Any news from the out of contract players at Glanford Park? Was hoping one of the page 1 regulars would have let us know by now, shame. Thought this was a good read: News is starting to trickle in over the past few weeks. Since mortgagehound first alerted me to the special Salop-Scunny relationship last season, I’ve been avidly following both clubs social media channels, so I’d consider myself fairly well informed. I can’t quite believe I’m the person breaking this on here given the number of fans whose emotional state depends upon events at Glanford Park, but the key ins and outs so far are as follows: Ins Lewis Spence - Ross County - really like the look of this guy, a good age and hopefully has a good re-sale value to Scunny Tyler Cordner and Frank Vincent also in on loan from Bournemouth Outs Rory McArdle - Exeter - bit of a shame this one, always had been one of my favourites in the Iron team James Perch - Mansfield Adam Hammill - Derry City Cameron Burgess - Accrington Overall a lot of higher earners the wrong side of 30 have gone. Some more signings like Lewis Spencer to complement the likes of McAtee, Eisa and Gilliead and I’ll officially start to dream! Sounds like a wet dream Geoffrey👍

Sc***horpe United 1-1 Newport County: Points shared on opening day www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54038210Will take that I reckon. Was hoping for three points but a point against Newport not to be sniffed to be honest.

It surely can’t be just me who is officially worried now. Another loss tonight and rooted in the bottom two.

Somewhat concerning, and with Coxy missing from the sideline too. Somehow knew that O'Malley miss was gonna come back to haunt The Iron.
Although crucially, it shouldn't be overlooked that they had 9 shots. I'm sure many moderators on "Any Old Iron" will wisely be arguing that trumps any concerns about the team's wider form.

I've always thought of Sc***horpe United as a pretty good barometer of what Shrewsbury Town could achieve.

Why have we got a nine page thread on Sc***horpe... what have they done to us? Not quite sure either. Some tenuous link to do with Hurst going there?

Why have we got a nine page thread on Sc***horpe... what have they done to us? You’ve asked this question before on this thread. I would expect the answer is no different. After the highs of Saturday, it really was back down to earth with a bump at this result.

Pretty basic error for someone who hasn't missed a game since 1982 to make. Remember myself, Mortgagehound and Schizo discussing over a pint of mild in the Hen and Chickens post-Carlisle how even though relegation that night was painful, it at least settled things and avoided the prospect of it going to a must-win match against The Iron. Half the Gay Meadow faithful wouldn't have known who to cheer for had it come to that, a real Sophie's Choice situation!

Still a team I find it hard to like. Maybe something to do with that big lump of a chairman.

With the game against Sunderland off, are any Salopians planning on travelling over to Grimsby for the big North Lincolnshire derby tomorrow? No fans officially allowed in given Grimsby's Tier 3 status, but fans not being allowed in didn't stop me earlier in the season and it certainly won't stop me now! Come Hell or High Water or a Global Pandemic, I will be there to witness us* beating the Mariner Scum! Staffordshrew is in my bubble so will be riding shotgun, if anyone else does fancy a lift I reckon lying in the boot will comply with regulations.
Shrewsbury aren't the only strugglers who have seen their form pick up of late, with 3 wins in the last 5 for the Iron to see us* motor up to the heady heights of 18th and overtake Grimsby, who lost the "Fish Derby" against 24th placed Southend on Tuesday. Hopefully we* can send them one step closer to non-league tomorrow!
*Shrewsbury are obviously my first love, but given the special relationship that's built up between Shrewsbury and Sc***horpe in the last 18 months, I have no hesitation in referring to The Iron as us/we/my beloved Claret and Blues. I'm sure many of the regular posters in this thread feel the same.

I’ve been nervous about this game all week, truth be told. After the events of Tuesday which was near enough perfection with us winning the city of Lincoln and Scunny emerging victorious in the last minute, I’m a bit concerned it’ll be “after the Lord Mayor’s show”.
I’m afraid I’m lacking the chutzpah of StaffordShrew and friends to attend this one in person, so will be iFollow for me on the big screen projector down the station.

Stay safe and socially distanced while watching on the big screen projector down the station, presumably when you are supposed to be working?
