I suppose if it was that bad he wouldn’t even turn up to train with the youth team....he’d just go awol? The club telling us he’s training with the youth team doesn’t necessarily make it true, I have my doubts that he is.

Some alleged goings on concerning Grant have been posted on the Facebook page and if I was a moderator I’d be getting them deleted pretty swiftly - true or not somebody could find themselves in a heap of legal trouble, still free to be viewed on Twitter, not good

Surely this situation has to be resolved by the Club pretty quickly.

There would have been far less speculation had the club not mentioned Grant today. I'm still not quite sure why they felt the need to do so.

Ricketts is so far out of his depth it’s becoming embarrassing. In what way? For me this will be a classic example of the same situation giving different viewpoints depending on how popular the manager is. Had it been Hurst then it would be great management showing that no player is bigger than the club, let Grant rot etc. But the jury is still out on Ricketts (at best) so he is out of his depth.

Perhaps because fans have been asking constantly where he is for the past few weeks? There had been a slowish trickle of discussion in this thread once posts about the initial comment from the club regarding dental surgery had died down. The statement by the club today has only served to initiate a much greater level of gossip, rumour and counter rumour. I think it's been counter productive.

It's also not great when the BBC get hold of the story and put it out like this. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49006462Shrewsbury Town midfielder Anthony Grant has been forced to train with the League One side's youth team after being banished from the first team for the season for "in house" reasons.

The club clearly need to move the player on as quickly as possible. For everyone’s sake.

Granty has clearly been a naughty boy then to be frozen out the way he has, we’re currently a little short in midfield as well but it seems his days here are certainly numbered and just a case of playing the waiting game now for some club to take him off our hands... Im sure there is more to the story. For example Ricketts does not want him pre Portugal and tells him though Grant would like to stay (rumours of a clash of personality). Ricketts leaves him at home Grant gets p**sed off and " does something naughty" the club dont like Club make up bull s**t Teeth story Town come back. Grant still at club, wants to keep training so club punt to youths to still force him out. Hes now annyoed and likely thinks F it I do want to go, but im on good money, so can play it out over a longer time period that Salop would like. All in all bit of a car crash from the "good news" town put up about his extra year to his deal just ONE month ago! Hi Glyn. What percentage of your posts would you say contain superfluous conjecture and what percentage contain reality?

Don't think the article on our website has helped at all
it's not going to help us get takers and doesn't put us in a good negotiating position
i'm struggling to remember any cases where this happened before too - where the club has explicitly said that x player is not going to take part in the season full stop and is training with the youth team..

What percentage of your posts would you say contain superfluous conjecture and what percentage contain reality? There's a number of possible different explanations for Grant's exile, in fairness. I heard it was more like this: (Ricketts scrolls down on his tablet - not an iPad - chuckling to himself) Grant: What are you laughing at, gaffer? Ricketts: I was just reading another one of Glyn's fantasy riddled posts which are offered up in place of any genuine ITK gossip. Grant: I think his posts are good. Ricketts: That's bang out of order! Grant: No, really! I think they bring genuine insight to the debate and shed new light on situations. Ricketts: They're full of superfluous conjecture, you moron. (Ricketts punches Grant plum in the chops, leading Grant to require intensive molar care) Ricketts (whispering tenderly into Grant's ear): Now p**s off to the Youth Team (Ricketts strolls towards Sainsbury's, whistling Daydream Believer as he goes)

Absolutely, to have taken these steps Ricketts must have the backing of the seniors, so looks like he is doing a good job, clearly prepared to ensure things are done his way no matter who the player.

If Ricketts gets Grant out of the door that’ll be the last “big personality” at the club with any clout to challenge him. He’s removed Coyne, Sadler and Grant from the stage.
Regardless of what happens he’s put himself under immense pressure off the bat. If we don’t hit the ground running then I really fear for Ricketts. Fingers crossed that he’s made the right calls.
I like the squad on paper but there’s certainly question marks over the manager.

You can understand why Danny Coyne didn't fancy the Managers job. There are so many qualities needed. Its not just about what goes on on the pitch. Managing players with big egos is not easy. This side of the job will be new to SR. It wouldn't have been a problem at Wrexham. Always thought MM was a good man manager as was Graham Turner.

He should be given time to establish it. Enough of this first 6 game make or break nonsense.
