Old dog. New Teeth. Excellent news.
This guy is the best all-round defensive midfielder we've had for many years, or could afford to get.
Those looking to replace him need to go see the head-doctor, never mind the dentist.

"It is thought midfielder Anthony Grant, who has been recovering from dental surgery, will not be joining Town in Portugal". That's one heck of a recuperation period! One less to pay for! Out of interest, does anyone know the rough cost of this trip? Yes

Could understand it if it was Luis Suarez we were talking about. I'd love to know who makes up these ridiculous stories at the club, there have been many over the years.

Pack it in, you'll frighten the three little girls. And Juan of them has a dental appointment tomorrow. Wouldn't surprise me if she has to miss the skool trip to Borth.

Those looking to replace him need to go see the head-doctor, never mind the dentist. He doesn’t want to be here! Don’t think we’ve had any say in him not turning up for pre season and not going to Portugal. Why would the club lie about his reason for not arriving for pre season training (recovering from dental work) if they weren’t just trying to buy more time to see if he returned.

Do we need a holding midfielder?
If we are playing 3 centre halves do we need someone sat in front of them not getting forward that often?
Would think the ideal 3 for midfield are Norburn, Edwards (if fit) and a new signing who can play a bit.

Norburn is the only midfield cert at the moment.
Edwards, still a question mark as to his fitness. Walker, unknown quantity at this point in time.
Is Laurent good enough to hold down a regular midfield spot, again I'm not sure.

He'd have been an ideal replacement for Docherty.

Point is we don't need a holding midfielder with 3 centre backs in the side as much as when we play 2. Would think we will go more for one who can open play up rather than an enforcer.

There is no doubt in footballing terms Grant is a big loss.

Agree though, Grant is a good player at this level.

Agree though, Grant is a good player at this level. I don't think Ogogo has been replaced. He was a strong tackler and leader and was the glue that held us together 2 seasons ago. His suspension and subsequent injury coincided with our decline. Grant is a decent player but not sure he has the leadership qualities of Ogogo. A definite loss to our midfield though...

My belief is that Grant is or was a far better player than Ogogo.....he perhaps needs to give his head a shake.

With the potential of Norburn being sidelined for a while is it really wise to let Grant go yet?

Do get the feeling its a name we'll be hearing a fair bit this season... And do we know the extent of Norburn's injury yet? They're set to return from Portugal today int it?

Reading between the lines, do we think Grant’s potential disruption behind the scenes in disagreement with management is hindering his chances of getting a new club? Seems to be taking a while to sort out. Or maybe he needs A LOT of dental work!!!

I think we can still do emergency loans for keepers, after the transfer window closes. Your looking at 4-6 weeks with Gregory on the bench. Probably worth the risk rather than getting a keeper permanently.
