Over the years Morison has been a stalwart for Millwall, their fans love him . He has been a very decent player and one we wouldn’t have stood a chance of signing a few seasons ago . Wish him all the best but ffs how old is he ? 36 isn’t he . I think Ricketts is on the way to winning the local walking football league . We will see but I’m getting worried , we will soon have a team of ex Welsh internationals over a certain age . That , to me , doesn’t seem like good business .

If it is a 2 year deal then we know there are problems

Age doesn't matter any more. If there remotaly decent, they'll do well to stay a year now. Could be a more than decent last 20 mins player, especially if somehow were in front.. Need two keepers. A right back(At the moment it's Beckles) and a forward...

Reasonably complimentary here but concerns about age and stamina surely should be of concern to his employers if and when he signs for us - he will be a big earner for sure, (he was/is one of Millwalls top earners and he won’t rock up here for peanuts), getting the moneys worth out of him may prove quite difficult millwall-forum.vitalfootball.co.uk/threads/morison-on-his-way.36431/

If it is a 2 year deal then we know there are problems It would be crazy to offer him a 2 year deal, almost as mad as the time we offered a 35 year old Mickey Heathcote a two year contract. I’d say offer him a one year deal with the option of extending if he makes 30 starts for us next season, people have dismissed his age but we could get a good season out of him... how old was LFW when he signed for us?

Bruno aged 38, was playing in Premiership for Brighton last season. I’m not concerned about his age.

We have signed plenty of players coming towards the end of their careers over the years, some have been a success, some have been a disaster. I suspect some of our fans would prefer Morrison to be in the latter just so they can get rid of Ricketts

Very much could go either way. He's not a youngster exactly and hardly prolific recently, but he is a very experienced player, with generally a good scoring record, certainly at lower league. Also his general play and assist stats are pretty good. Millwall were playing him for a reason in the championship last few seasons. I expect him to mainly be an option off the bench to unrest the opposition defence, and also to provide lots of good advice for our young strikers. He is studying to be a coach as well, so a dual role maybe? I don't think he's going to set the world alight, but I don't quite understand the negativity myself.

If we had two other strikers over 30 I'd be concerned. We haven't any. Okenabirhie, AAH and Udoh should all benefit from the experience of Morison. We've lacked nous and craftiness in attack for a long time now. With our squad as it is, a wise head, a bit of guile and good decision making is needed more than another youngster finding his way.
I'd be quite pleased if this happens.

On the fence with Ricketts but come on this is a decent signing on paper.
Always comes across as a 'bully' on the pitch, we need that!
Need some steel up top.

Comment from a Millwall fan:-
"We know deep down he's super committed, but he does not have the legs to make it all happen anymore. Last season he was little or no use, even in his cameo run down the clock games".
Ideal replacement for LJL then!

"I like his spiky attitude, the sheer **** offness of it and the arrogance that goes with it. This arrogance. Watch the last few seconds of the celebrations after scoring in the play off, he shrugs Romeo's arm off his shoulder, he wants the adulation for himself and no one else.
See him bullying defenders, often the opposition put two defenders on him because he is a handful and was a very clever player. Last time we played Wolves at home he came on as sub, he absolutely mugged their quality defenders off, didn't score but caused them no end of agg.
The 4-3 win up at Leeds putting crosses for the first two goals, the Leeds supporters really hate him. I could go on, most of you have seen all this.
Last season was a disappointment, yes, but does not detract from the other stuff he has done for Millwall."

He did his Pro Coaching badges with SR apparently.

Very true. A Stoke fan (not the one I usually speak with) told me just now that Ryan Woods is too slow and loses the ball all the time!

Jury’s out on Ricketts for me, but he’s got us over the line after a very chaotic season and deserves a go at his own squad. The amount of supporters who seem to find a stick to bash him at any given opportunity is getting tiresome.

I have been saying for several seasons we need a clever seasoned pro up top. When Morison came here with Millwall I disliked him, but at the same time wished we had a player like him.
If this is true, then I reckon he will be more than a useful addition to the squad.

It's going to be a bit of an anti climax tomorrow when the club announce his signing given that the world and his dog already know. By the way, what happened to the 10pm signing time? I always looked forward to it, especially when we didn't have a clue as to who would be unveiled.

Decent player.
He won the penalty they beat us with when we got back into league one didn't he? He was a right old handful then.
