Couple have row shock. You do get the feeling that things are going to crank up to an altogether different level once May is eventually replaced. A whole lot nastier, a whole lot sillier, a whole lot more desperate... The guy was fired from one of his first journalism jobs for making up quotes. He then carved out a niche writing sensationalist columns making things up about the EU and consistently courted controversy through print media. At least there's some evidence that this row actually happened. Not that I really give a toss about it (it's personal, nothing to do with his politics etc) but I won't cry too much about Boris getting a hard time off the press. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

Why did the police claim to have no record of anything happening until their own case references and vehicle markings were put to them?
Very unsatisfactory.

That’s because somehow we’re likely to have a lieing cheating non politically correct bafoon of the highest order in charge of the country at the most important and challenging time in politics in a generation

Also sacked by Michael Howard from a Shadow Arts job for lying about an extra marital affair. God help us.

Rejoice , Rejoice! Now , when did I hear that ? Oh , I know , the Devil Incarnate said it didn’t she the old barsteward. Rejoice , Rejoice , looks like Boris to be Prime Minister . He’ll give us our Country back alright, back to the bloody dark ages . What an absolute f.ck up . No Brexit , no new trade deals worth bothering about , thank you Dr Fox , and an imploding Tory Party choosing between BJ and Hunt with the treacherous one lurking around every corner . Dont ignore Gove and his wife . What a gruesome twosome indeed . The Country is in a mess thanks to Cameron. Our grandchildren will never forgive us for letting this happen. We need another GE so help me .

As bad as things have been I think it's set to become worse still...

How many couples over this, or indeed any weekend have had an argument behind closed doors with threats to either made with raised voices - it’s a non story made into a story because a nosy neighbour has seized the opportunity to make a few bucks and the press are all over it like a rash - it will be something and somebody else within days

Hardly a profession where people need a few bucks.

This story is just the tip of the Boris iceberg. His personal life should have some bearing on his suitability but his lack of political judgement is frightening.

Conversely some might say they seized their Andy Warhol moment and their 15minutes of fame - it’s hardly a story of great importance and if it wasn’t Boris it wouldn’t be a story at all. I wonder just how many actually do record their neighbours having an argument and perhaps stand with an ear and glass pressed up against the wall and a mobile phone on voice record

As I mentioned previously how many couples have heated rows and heightened voices with threats made in anger....
Tells you much about the politics of the neighbour involved given that they ‘conveniently’ chose to contact The Guardian so swiftly and also that the wife made public and rejoiced in the fact that she ‘flipped the finger’ to Johnson earlier in the week (now choosing to delete that from social media)

A man with ideations of becoming prime minister has acted this way, amongst the many other occurrences that don't really befit the office he seeks to hold. Sure its a private behind closed doors occurrence but to me it gives an indication of someone with serious questions about his character, particularly when he will be sworn in to office based on the views of a tiny proportion of the electorate.

I'll be sure to use this advice next time my neighbours are screaming at each other, audible through the walls of our no doubt over million pound House. With cries of 'get out' and things being smashed, I'll simply stiffen my upper lip, increase the volume of my TV and mind my own bloody business.

Boris has consistently failed to articulate his strategy for the issue that will define his premiership – Brexit. And the reason he’s failed to articulate his strategy is because he doesn’t have one.

You’ve hit the nail on the head. By standing for Prime Minister he’s waving his right to privacy, his behaviour is everyone’s business now surely you’ve got to be accountable all the time ? Maybe be all the reports and headlines over the years have just been made up and he’s a jolly good egg but those than know him well don’t seem to think so ....He’s a bloody nightmare

Johnson has made his strategy quite clear. Prepare properly for no deal so the EU know we are ready to leave and actually mean it this time. If renegotiations aren't reopened we leave on the 31st of October. He is covering himself nicely by saying he doesn't want to leave without a deal but with the infamous ERG backing him you know we will leave. We can then get on with a few other things

So, while the police turned up and no complaint was made (there usually isn't in domestic abuse cases) the couple were actually right to report it. As for the rest, well, the only people who are actually making this political in terms of labelling them 'leftist' is the Johnson supporting press. You see, b0ll0x works both ways.

Very good idea that, to many people getting there noses stuck into other peoples business these days. I'm becoming more and more worried by this approach to domestic abuse. If you've got a worry you should report it. Either way, no matter who the person is. By all means use common sense but by the sound of the recording this was more than a bit of an argument. The things some people will say now to protect their views. He's wrong and if that character you think is right to represent you... We wouldn't take this from a footballer.. Why an PM?

Stepping back from the individuals involved in this case, if you suspect domestic abuse you should report it. The victim might not be able to through fear, dependence, whatever.
I’ve come across it twice. Once it was my upstairs neighbours, the police got involved and it went no further - because both of the couple were police officers! I didn’t take it seriously enough to report it.
Second time, I wasn’t aware of it but the couple below my elderly neighbours across the hall were beating the devil out of their children - literally, but that’s religious fundamentalism for you (Christian). My neighbours reported it, the kids went into care and their father went to prison.
Don’t turn up the TV, don’t ignore it.

I wonder what level of potentially nefarious activities we can extend this attitude to.

We can then get on with a few other things But he hasn’t explained how he’ll get parliamentary approval for leaving with no deal and no majority will vote for this. Will he honestly suspend government to get it through? That’s not democratic an people could take to the streets... dont need a lecture on the ‘democratic’ leave vote in the referendum, this is different how we leave wasn’t included in the referendum.

Indeed, b******s does work both ways and both sides of the argument can be said to be guilty but I still stand by my original comment and feel that it is a non story
