No, but I'm moaning about Charles Cook being offered a new contract. Perhaps he'll reject it, as he seems to be taking his time in signing. Difficult to envisage too many rivals for his signature though. Sheer arrogance he hasn't signed it to be honest. What is that based on?

‘Felt at home at Shrewsbury’ but then says ‘wanted to move closer to family’. So he didn’t feel at home then did he?!!? Do you take everything so literally? Course I do!

Paynes' excuse for joining Bristol Rovers was because he wanted to be closer to his family so if that was the excuse why did he spend the second half of this season back here?
Arnold and the clubs excuse doesnt wash. He has obviously been told that he is surplus to requirements here.

I cannot believe we got a few for him.
I’m relieved that he isn’t our number one for next season. I’m my opinion, he is very average GK and we should be looking to sign better.

Hasta la vista big Arnie. Good luck at the Cobblers.
I expect they're a load of cloggers.

Sheer arrogance he hasn't signed it to be honest. What is that based on? It leaked from the PFA on Twitter last week. There’s a new regulation this season whereby players have to disclose their reason for not signing terms within two weeks if offered. Southstandshrew is paraphrasing rather than quoting directly, I believe the actual reason given was “High opinion of own ability”. Can’t find the exact tweet right now to double-check.

Even if that were the case then I'd say it's a success considering the amount of players we have paid to leave. Arnold was an ok keeper but quite simply we need better, at this level, over to Mr Ricketts to try and do that.

so we keep the worst keepper and sell the slightly better keepper, i hope Ricketts is planning to bring in two keepers ,otherwise we will have Cook as our second choice keepper.

As the saying goes. Northamptons loss is our gain. Never felt comfortable with him in goal although he did Improve. Always felt he was a conference keeper done good.

Harry Burgoyne in from Wolves?
Regan Poole a possible season long loan from Man Utd at CB/LB to replace Beckles who may on his way out for a fee.
Naill Ennis in on loan from Wolves anyone?

Arnold and the clubs excuse doesnt wash. He has obviously been told that he is surplus to requirements here. Because Payne played for us at the start of the season and then played for Rovers he could not play for a third club. So he had the choice of staying at Rovers where he wasn't wanted or come here and try get some minutes.

We got money for him?
Good deal even if it only covers the bar bill in Portugal.

Don’t mean to sound harsh, but that’s a good deal for us, a fee and a chance to bring in a higher standard no1, definitely looked like a weak spot.

“some great performances in the Town goal” Nice guy, appalling keeper. Delighted by this news. Behave! He stepped up to the plate when he was called apon. Yes he made the odd mistake but overall he put in solid performances. Good luck to the lad. Haha. Right you are. Hahaha.

According to Bernard McNally's latest article in The Star the fee was £5000 £5k is a fair price I was once scouted by pele and transferred for a record equalling fee for the league I was in £2 to the rock 😜 Less than £5k behind Arnold ;-)
