Have I actually just read that Martin believes we should be spending over one million pounds on one player? Has anyone got any concentrated sulfuric acid so I can wash my eyes out? I'm not suggesting we necessarily should have brought Eisa, but the notion he's out of our price range is nonsense. More brexit economics eh?

I'm not sure Bolton has really been linked with Peterborough. It's just people like me taking the comments from Darragh MacAnthony combined with comments in the Star about bigger clubs in our division being interested in him and thinking he may be heading that way. Portsmouth fit the bill just as much. Portsmouth's right back last season was a loanee, Nathan Thompson, so it makes sense that they could be interested in Bolton. Naismith was Peterboroughs right back for all of last season, so Bolton signing for them seems a bit odd unless Naismith is leaving. Can they afford to have 2 first team wages on a singular position, and would Bolton want to leave to not be a first teamer? But I think Darren MacAnthony has suggested they have had a new right back tied up since the end of the season. Find it hard to believe that is the case if its still not been announced! But they do seem to splashing the cash so who knows. Re: Portsmouth. Nathan Thompson wasn't on loan. He's been there since 2017. But he is out of contract and not yet signed, so there may well be a gap there for them. Got chatting to Naismith’s dad in the nags the night before our game with posh. Said he disliked Evans’ way and the hoofball they were playing and wouldn’t be surprised to see him leave- but that was in the January window. Was very complimentary of Brian Caldwell as he was there when Naismith came through at St Mirren. I told him we’d be more than happy to have him here! We could always do a swap.

Another centre back, interesting given that we already have four on the books.

I will chuck a name into the ring and keep my fingers crossed the club he ends up at on loan this season will be Shrewsbury Town FC . Aaron Connolly . So this lad played in the U21 toulon tournament today, set one up scored 1 and just looks such a good player in the making, he will go out on loan I hope we're keeping tabs on him as I'm sure many other clubs are.

Regan Poole....on loan at Newport last season but out of contract at Man Utd would be an excellent signing.
Possibly championship bound but maybe Ro-Williams could have a word?

Don’t discount Ryan Giles coming in - it’s gone a bit quiet regarding him but led to believe he will be coming & Dan Jones is also very much on the cards

Giles will be OK, and got a feeling there 2/3 choice goalie might be on his way

Maybe if we sold Norburn for a lot of money we could bring Nolan back here.

Maybe if we sold Norburn for a lot of money we could bring Nolan back here. Norburn doesn't immediately strike me a championship player, but think i'd take the money if they got a good bid. Saying that, how much did we pay? Would have to be a bid of 500k or so I would imagine to convince to sell as he's got 2 years left on his deal and so would want a profit.
Think it would be very very unlikely we would consider that reinvested back on Nolan though. Think he has a good chance of being a key figure in Ipswich's bid back for promotion, and would probably take a similar bid to what we sold him for to get him back.

Personally I thought Nolan was very overrated. In regards to Norburn, we should be looking to only accept £750k+, that said, nobody is going to pay that. He looked to improve towards to end of the season, but he's not Championship level.

MacAnthony's response on twitter shows, I think as it's just an emoticon reply, that he doesn't think much of the story, but Pete O'Rourke is normally very reliable.
Norburn is a very underrated player for me and would be a significant loss for next season given how Ricketts has indicated he wants to play.
He has said, in recent weeks, that they're looking for centre midfield players and they haven't signed any yet.

I believe we paid approx £300,000 for him, I think an offer around £600,000 would be acceptable.

Of course they've bid for him. I'd politely tell him to **** off until he comes back with 7/800k up front no drip feeding how posh usually pay. People stating they don't hate any clubs on the other thread. Well I do. And one of them is Peterborough United.

MacAnthony's tweets are to be taken with a pinch of salt based on this one.
He would have been better off not replying about Norburn. He's not going to come out and say they have been for bid for him anyway.

There could be a Tranmere sell on clause to also take into consideration in terms of how much we might sell for.

There could be a Tranmere sell on clause to also take into consideration in terms of how much we might sell for. Pointless selling anyway, raked in £4m, likely to reinvest 12.5% of it at best. On that logic, sell for a £1m we might just about reinvest £125k. Again, not asking us to break the bank, just have a bit of ambition. £275k on one player and a further £325k spread across 7 or 8 more isn't ambition, it's scraping the barrell.

What about the new training ground we have just had? There are other ways of spending to gain ambition other then waste on players. More money has been invested in our Youth team and academy from this also.

We'd be mad not to try on a free, although doubt we'll compete with Rangers/Sunderland.

As soon as I saw his name I thought the reunion was on. Looked a good player, lost his way in the last few years. Will likely go and score 20 odd this season now!

Possible replacement for Norburn. Not had a club since leaving Derby earlier this year. Ex Wales international and still only 32. Would be great signing.

We could have the Dad's Army midfield three of Edwards, Ledley and Grant.
