A high pressure game on Monday now against a very in form Oxford team (W7 D2 L1 in their last 10 games).

waterfall, Campbell ,Golbourne and Ferjiri all had chances ,over the course of the game the Barnsley keeper made three one on one chances. an early second half goal by Barnsley game them a toe hold in this game, whilst town had the most chances Barnsley were more clinical in front of goal. only time will tell how costly all the missed chances could be for town.
town deserve a lot of credit in how they played, they more than held there own against a team who are second but at the moment it is the results that count.

Good summing up that. We could have won and certainly could have got a draw but they are not second without good reason.

Perhaps I may not have done so if we hadn't of got anything last week but I really enjoyed that. Yeah we didn't get anything out of the game but we really did have a right good go at them and more than matched them. A little more composure in front of goal and we should have come away with the point. Really encouraging display.
I gather come Monday we've reached the territory that if results go our way it could be all be sorted and we can be officially safe?

Wimbledon and Southend are 5/6 points behind us respectively with significantly worse goal differences so almost there with three to play.

Bad luck Town. Sounds like a pretty decent performance where missed chances proved to be the difference.
Other results more or less went our way though, particularly the draws at Walsall, Wimbledon and Sc***horpe. Even the wins by Gillingham and Rochdale were at the expense of Plymouth and Wycombe. Accrington should lose to Luton tomorrow.

Anyone think this should have been a penalty? Seen them given but not sure the tug had enough impact really to be a penalty.

Will be sorted if we get 3 points, it's a sort of must tho, dare not lose either !!! If we win on Monday there are still other results that need to go our way for us to be safe at that stage. The other key games are Southend v Burton and Charlton v Sc***horpe on Monday and Luton v Wimbledon on Tuesday.

A high pressure game on Monday now against a very in form Oxford team (W7 D2 L1 in their last 10 games). Not sure about high pressure. The likes of Southend, Walsall etc have huge games, we still need a couple of points possibly but I’d still say it’s far from high pressure.

in the form table Oxford are 2nd and town 11th , so town will have to match today's performance and be more clinical in front of goal to get something from this vital game.

I say high pressure as as defeat, not that unlikely against such an in form Oxford side, will leave us potentially having to get a result at Coventry the following Sunday, the day after everyone else has played, in order to avoid potentially needing something on the last day.

For the sake of clarity, can I just ask if we want Ricketts our or not this week?

A very respectable performance in a game which could have gone either way, and which was a decent advert for League One.
We're not out of the woods yet, but I'd argue we're still in a slightly better position than we were free-kick off.
Obviously there was the occasional mistake, but there was lots of good play too, and you can't really criticise the team for defeat in such circumstances.
All three goals were very well taken, but unfortunately Barnsley were slightly more clinical on the day.

It felt like a top of the table clash, that. Both sides played their part in a cracking spectacle but Salop really should have won it, not lost. A brilliant performance full of invention, trickery & hard work.
Sure, we lost, and their keeper and our poor finishing is the reason for that, but I really really enjoyed that. There’s been too much boredom this season for me, but that cannot be the label today. Another in a string of strong performances.
We should have plenty in the tank to see this one over the line now. Sears & Whalley - superb.
You can never be happy with defeat, but in a season of mundane & dire, this recent run is most welcome & I’m not as despondent as maybe I should be tonight.

The Oxford keeper was sent off today so will be missing Monday. Not sure what kind of back up they have.

Not sure it needs to have any impact. If a player is clearly holding a player back by pulling on his shirt its a free kick. So I think it should have been a penalty...

Not surprised, that looks a definite penalty and right in front of the ref. I bet that's awarded for a home team. We could have been a bit more animated in our appeals though.

A high pressure game on Monday now against a very in form Oxford team (W7 D2 L1 in their last 10 games). There are nine teams below us and between them they've averaged 3 points from their last 5 games. One is already down, all nine have much worse goal differences than us. Can six teams out of eight get a surge of good results and go past us? I don't want us to test it but I strongly suspect we would stay up without getting another point. One more point would surely seal it, one win definitely would. I don't think the pressure's on us at all, but that's no excuse for not being fully focused on winning on Monday to clinch it.

The last team to get relegated from league 1 with 51 points was Torquay in 2005. Only a handful of teams in the last couple of decades have gone down with 50, so with the number of teams below us and our decent GD we're pretty much there, but be nice if we were mathematically safe before the final game.

A high pressure game on Monday now against a very in form Oxford team (W7 D2 L1 in their last 10 games). High pressure? Know the job isn’t done yet but one point from our remaining 3 games should be enough, however I won’t be happy if we lose our next 2 games and if we go into the Walsall game needing something, hopefully we can wrap it up against Oxford but know it won’t be easy, and they wiped the floor with us at their place.

Sears had an impressive game - played a couple of fantastic through balls and never looked out of his depth.
