having a quick look it appears they have paid for 1 player in the last 4 seasons '£200K
sold several for best part of 15M total
and we have fans screaming for us to dip into our little pot to change the manager every 3 months and splash out a big chunk of it on random forward who can score in lower leagues I bet bolton fans wish they were in a league 1 relegation scr@p with 3M in the bank

Another one. Time the spineless, gutless, FA stood up and did their job. ....... and did what? 12 points, banned from League. Please expand you comment. I'd stick them down to the 4th division (if of course they can prove they are in a position to play football next season). I don't see any reason why they shouldn't get relegated twice over for this. And then you would really hope that the League can get their arse into gear and really make sure there are checks in place to make sure they can play and fulfill their fixtures next season, that the finances are in place. If the club can't prove that then yeah, ban them from the League.

Latest update www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48077182So Bolton could end up fielding a much weakened team for their 2 remaining fixtures? I suppose it is fortunate that neither Brentford or Forest are involved in a promotion/relegation fight otherwise things would be even more messier than they are now.

Hopefully Brentford will get compensated for the extra expenses they have incurred with this fiasco as well.

The latest statement from Bolton, about an hour ago, would appear to suggest this is a fiasco of immense proportions: Bolton Wanderers Statement "The agreement between Inner Circle Investments and Mr Bassini would have resulted in a personal loss to Mr Anderson but he felt the deal offered by Mr Bassini was the best option to allow a quick and a solvent solution for the club, something that has been at the foremost of his thoughts during the process.
Inner Circle Investments and Ken Anderson as the only director of the company cannot allow this process to continue"
That reads to me as though the Bassini takeover is off, although the fact he could pass the EFL's so-called "fit and proper" test highlights that the test is an inadequate waste of time. Bolton are a basket case and this episode, not for the first time, undermines the credibility of the entire EFL. I recall Luton taking a 30 point deduction and Bournemouth 27(?) - were their offences as serious as this? Another country, I know, but Rangers were dropped 2 or 3 divisions. Surely there's a severe punishment coming Bolton's way - an example needs to be made and better late than never. Nothing new in football clubs being grotesquely mismanaged though. But what about our universities? How much did the University of Bolton pay for the stadium naming rights - and why? What benefit does it bring to its students? Is this where the students' £9k per year loans are squandered? How happy are those students knowing they're loaded with £27k+ tuition fee debt for their working lives when a portion of that money has been p****d up the wall of a basket case football club?

Thank you northwest man for that information about Luton. So why can't Bolton have 30 points deduction for next season, and see how they get on with that one. Luton had it, and have done great to get back where they are now. Would teach notlob a bloody good lesson in my opinion

Hopefully Brentford will get compensated for the extra expenses they have incurred with this fiasco as well. What about the fans who wouldn’t be football creditors? Sure many will have booked train tickets and accommodation which isn’t refundable, even made the trip to make a weekend out of it.....

Bolton should pay for them too but doubt that will happen.

Bolton's game against Brentford has now been cancelled and Brentford awarded the three points. And Bassini is out of the frame and won't be taking over Bolton. Good thing too. Wouldn't expect them to be in any shape to compete at the top of League 1 next season, especially with two of Sunderland/Portsmouth/Charlton still around. But these "big" clubs have a habit of somehow finding a way to pay for squads they can't afford.

Reckon on big points deduction as per Luton for not playing the Brentford Game.

I can see a hefty punishment on the horizon. Maybe 30 pts deduction at the start of next season or maybe relegation to Div 2 !!
I would imagine they will have to convince the EFL that they can pay all their suppliers/players/staff, Inland Revenue and the Bank even before any decision is made as to what that decision will be. Which will probably mean that they desperately need a multi, multi millionaire to buy the club and pay off the debts !!

So that's 12 points plus whatever happens re the Brentford non match? Still have no doubt they'll be signing players we can't afford come August though.

Was trying to bet on them to go down @ 40's but SkyBet pulled the market. They're happy to take your 5/2 for promotion though, seems a bit unfair that!

Never chase losses, just seeking out new potential bets. Season long bets time soon, hopefully another haul like this year.
