What’s this about Martin? Instead of Zebra Finance - payments via direct debit straight to club at same monthly rates

Thy have asked people to register and now the system is in place they will for the fans that did register honor the early EB prices.
To be fair they have done the best they can on this in a tricky situation.

it would possibly be an idea to extend the EB for another week to stop the whining.... perhaps that could be put to the club El H....

Great stuff but can’t see anything on the site? It’s for those who registered an interest after the collapse of the Zebra monthly finance scheme

Had been with Zebra for years, Its very handy splitting the cost of a ST to ten monthly payments. I went to the ground last week fearful that I could not afford to renew if there was no finance in place. I was advised that the club would honour the pre 14th April prices if I registered with them at that time which I did. I had an email this morning, completed a direct debit mandate, scanned it and returned it to the club and received confirmation that everything was set up for next season.
For all the criticism levelled at the club and more particularly the ticket office here is an initiative to be applauded. A big thank you to Martin Gaunt the Ticket Office Manager.

Not fair on those that made the effort and either bought or registered..... If they extend it by a week some will still moan and say they didn’t know, happens every year Having said that no one seems to be complaining, good service by the club 👍

I suppose at least those who asked got the option

Credit where credit is due, i'd imagine they'll be a decent uptake on this, especially if it's 0% interest. £300+ in a lump, or more if one person is paying for the whole family can be a lot in one go.

Buy upfront is £310.00 so the interest is 29.10 /2.91 per month. Seems entirely reasonable. I am sure that there must have been a fair number of people who bought on finance who would not be able to renew by one payment and by not accomodating them the club would lose a fair chunk of money.

Indeed, £30 over 12 months is nothing. I thought someone said we'd need a certificate to charge interest etc, unless i;d read that wrong?
Either way, a decent offering. Something had to be done with Zebra going, the club may actually profit and gain more fans from this so cannot complain!

Seems fair, the people that paid through zebra shouldn't have to pay more than others and there has to be some benfit to paying up front.

Used to have a scheme like this in Pockets for the more expensive clothes/winter jackets. Too many scams and scammers these days.

Paying on Finance is completely different to paying by a monthly Direct Debit. That’s why they call it the direct debit finance option..... why’s it completely different, your borrowing the money to buy the season ticket and paying interest, using a direct debit to make the payment ... how else would you pay it.

By making it a non-finance Direct Debit and asking fans to pay over 10 months, i.e. my £310 season ticket at £31 per month. If any one then fails to pay their DD cancel their season ticket.

You dont usually have to pay to have a direct debit set up or for the privilege of it do you.
This time its to be fair with those who took up Zebra earlier before it removed the option. I would hope next year if its free from the start via the club there would be an extra fee for doing via direct debit.

I guess because there are different financial rules governing using a finance company (a third party if you like) and a direct debit which is a straight arrangement between your bank and the club.

Agreed. Surely there's going to be a difference between a simple direct debit and a financing scheme? I'm not expert in this field by any means but it seems as though as other pointed to that we'd have to have some kind of certificate for financing.
Either way, it's a good offering by the club. I'm sure they'll be a decent enough uptake and it'll be good for the coming seasons also!

If this is on offer next year, it should really be for no fee or one much reduced from the Zebra fiance fee uplift they have applied. One for the SP to keep an eye on.
