I think they may be down before then, personally I'd rather they stay up and we keep the local derbies for next season, assuming we can also see it through.

These players in the right hands should have been a playoff team. Don't blame Ricketts... Take the word ‘don’t ‘ out of that statement and I 100% agree with you. That said i’m relieved that safety is looking very likely now. But I don't blame Ricketts for this position, for a non league manager he's learnt very quickly. I still blame Askey for all of this, recruited well enough. Couldn't step up. Ricketts at least gets the modern game.

Well other than one or two moments (particularly that scramble around the 88 minute mark) that was as routine as the game down in Southend. We looked pretty comfortable throughout and were well worth the points today, clearly the better side. So fair play to Ricketts, a truly awful start and things looking a tad worrying at times but he's more than pulled it around and we're now looking safe and all set for a mid table finish. Enjoyed that today. Enjoying the look of the League One league table too.

So am I right in thinking that 50 points aren’t enough?

Yet another superb performance today by Beckles. A certain former goalkeeper must be beyond devastated tonight. He played well first half and I was delighted. Second half he twice got too cocky and could have cost us. Ability wise he can get by, but decision making means he will probably be replaced in the summer.

It would be nice to get it all done and dusted by Easter Monday at the latest.

The guy has spent two seasons here and been shunted all over the back line, in and out of the side and still made the league team of last season. A great ambassador for the club too, and appears to be a genuinely nice guy. Really hope to see Omar sporting the blue and amber again come August 👍

Absolutely buzzing to be travelling home after another good showing. The 4th performance in a row to impress, particularly the last two away games which have been a stark contrast to our generally limp away days.
Delighted that Ricketts & the players responded in the way they have to that atrocity against Wycombe and what went before it. They’ve most certainly taken the relief of the late turnaround that day and used it to build momentum just when we needed it most.
Gillingham had their chances today before we got to grips with things but by and large superb for a team in our position to win so comfortably. Beckles & Docherty top top class.

A very strange game. At times played at a very pedestrian pace, almost like two teams going through the motions at the end of a season with safety secured, rather than with relegation still a possibility. Town shaded the first half and looked pretty comfortable, and early effort for Gills against the post aside, and Town the only team to turn up 2nd half. Seems their keeper probably could have done better with the Bolton effort and Campbell's finish trickled in, but suddenly it was comfortable. Nothing in response from Gills and we saw it out comfortably in the end. Surely that is league 1 secured now, and credit must go to Rickett's for finally settling on a team and formation that finally seems to be working.
Docherty motm for me, he looked very busy and injected much needed urgency. Beckles strong as always too.
My hands have almost warmed up too!

I think we are safe now, espcially with the sheer amount of teams currently below us.
Ricketts seems to have learnt quite a bit, the experience of this season will no doubt help in the future.

Our goal difference is worth another point too, if any of the other teams also reach 50 points.

I think you're right, we would need the arse to fall out of the season big time for us to get relegated now. And so with that, to your second point, what on earth are we getting in Ricketts next season? Appreciate we've turned in around of late but some of the stuff served up has been pretty dire and with such an inexperienced manager, it's still very much heading into the unknown next season. That it'll be another go at the 3rd division (fingers crossed) means I'm pretty excited about next season already.

So doesn’t he deserve some credit for taking us to safety after looking pretty doomed a few weeks ago? If he gets this result today it will go a long way to assuaging a lot of peoples fears. The only thing worse than making a mistake is not learning from it. Looks like Ricketts might be learning with potentially 2 massive away wins in as many weeks. Of course there is another possibility. Maybe Rickets knew exactly what he was doing and has been fully vindicated. None of us really know so let's just give the man credit for keeping us up with 4 games to go.

today is a step closer but we are only six points clear of Wimbledon who are 21st with Barnsley next who are second then Oxford who are 12th , out of the last five games have won four and drawn once then Coventry who are 8th and have won twice , drawn twice twice and lost once in the last five games and beat Sunderland 4-5 with Sunderland playing at home. in the form table Oxford(3rd) and Coventry(8th) are above us and we are tenth with Barnsley 11th .( from the fishy league 1 form table)

No coincidence the Tinkerman has stopped tinkering and the results are beginning to happen. Hope this lesson has been learnt. If it’s not broke { baring injuries , suspensions } don’t fix it.

Mathematically we're not, but extremely unlikely anyone will get relegated on 50 points this season. Have some faith!

Ricketts doesn't think we're safe yet, maybe you should tell him to have some faith too.
It ain't over until it's over, as previously said the gap could easily be three by this time next week. Barnsley away will be very difficult to get anything from.

Teams below us have to play each other, so another point to be sure, plus our superior goal difference is enough.
