Very rarely used it anyway. Occasionally come back on it, but usually go to Birmingham and get Chiltern from Moor Street

i have used the direct train service, so i hope the new franchise continues it,i also use the service if i dont have to be in london for a specific time.as my daughter lives in Brighton and it is a short tube ride from Euston to Victoria. i hope this does not mean we now face Virgin running down the service as there franchise comes to an end.

A real disaster for the status of the town if this results in no direct trains.

Much preferred the late, lamented Wrexham & Shropshire service.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-47877858Stagecoach which owns 49% of Virgin Trains was disqualified from 3 franchise bids today. "The Department for Transport (DfT) disallowed the bids because they did not meet pensions rules. Virgin was bidding to renew the West Coast franchise in partnership with Stagecoach and France's SNCF. Stagecoach had also put in for the East Midlands and South Eastern franchises, both of which have been rejected."

Hopefully Virgin can join someone else as always seemed reasonably well run. Can not see any other british group being big enough to run the all the West coast routes.

They weren't told they had been disqualified until after the deadline for bids. They knew the condition regarding pensions and didn’t follow them so bid didn’t meet the criteria

It was always going to lose money because it was not allowed to stop at Wolves or New Street, mainly because Virgin didn’t want competition.
