County down as it stands 2 -1 down, can not see them coming back now and Macc would Still be Safe at 1-1 any way.

A Paul Hurst-esque recovery job by Sol Campbell to keep Macclesfield in the EFL, they were seven points adrift when he charge.
A momentous day for English football. Notts County, the oldest professional club in the world and a founder member of the Football League, are relegated after 131 years.

Macc maybe as complete underdogs being virtually relegated going into November or County as one of the FL founder members. I guess County will have much more chance of getting back up when they regroup themselves than ever Macc would have. I guess Kopthis is still dreaming of winning the Champions League later this month...............

I didn’t think anyone could have kept that Macclesfield side up.
Fair play to Campbell for going in and sorting it out.

Fancy Campbell sending his ex club down!
He could have been their manager after Eriksson.

Gallows humour from the Notts County Board:-
"At least I don't have to boycott the Checkatrade Trophy any more".
"I'll now have to subscribe to BT Sport".
"We now have the chance to be the 1st Club ever to win the F.A. Cup and the F.A. Trophy".

he and the players have done an amazing job , bearing in mind what a mess hte club was in and the form they were in when he over, next season should be interesting but i doubt if he will have much of a budget for new players. at one points town ,maccalesfield, and Ipswich all looked to be heading for relegation.

Great job done by Campbell. Similar to what Wally Downes has done at Wimbledon.
Karma for Notts County for all that “project” nonsense.

The parachute payments have certainly changed a bit since we went down to the Conference!
Notts will get £500,000 next season and then £250,000 the season after if they're still in that division.

Just to rub more salt into the wounds for Notts fans, Forest have now taken over their previous mantle as the oldest club in the Football League.
