Last throw of the dice for Walsall
You’d hope 5 points + GD, they won’t be troubling us again this season

Local lad, brought up on the Beechdale estate. Left it a bit late to sack him.

Jeff Bonser seen talking with Martin O'Connor after their game today, maybe he will get the job until the end of the season.

I would say they’ve sacked him too early - we don’t play them for a few weeks yet!!!!

Well well well?
What a time to sack a Gaffer? In the relegation zone with 5 games to go?
Crazy!

It would be great if we could put the final nail in the coffin for them in the last match of the season. Chairman Bonser not a pleasant person and deserves all he gets including maybe Hurst. Two snakes together.

Two snakes together. The best scenario possible is that we are safe when we play them, they need 3 points to stand a chance of staying up, they get them, but then results elsewhere send them down.

I really hope we are safe before then. Otherwise I can see it being quite toxic.

I really hope we are safe before then. Otherwise I can see it being quite toxic. Why toxic? I hope we’re safe before then too but, if we’re not, surely local rivals in a winner-take-all game ought to be an occasion to relish. I know what you mean and many others think the same. This is certainly not a criticism of you but doesn’t it say something about how far we (as general football fans) have fallen that we’d approach such a game in that negative spirit? Sport should be all about contests like that!

I’m just thinking about outside the ground afterwards. We had trouble with matches earlier in the season and a vital match against a team deemed to be our nearest rivals just worries me. I agree totally with you but there are always some idiots about.

As many local games as posse bull for me. As long as we're safe, I hope they are as well.

We used to go in The Saddlers Bar. Never saw any trouble.

Absolutely no way I would want that, this team has bottled enough games this season so far. Let’s just hope we are safe by then and can just concentrate on sending them down, much better scenario.

Agreed. All I'm saying is, should we be in that position, it'd be an occasion to look forward to (and obviously hope the idiots aren't too idiotic).

They've a decent run in looking to the remaining fixtures (looking to Stanley, Southend, Wycombe), if they can get this appointment right they're far from out of it. If it did got tits up for them it must be a fair bit since we've been in a higher division than Walsall, I think so anyhow...

I agree totally with you but there are always some idiots about. Wouldn’t worry, those not looking for trouble won’t find any whereas those that do will, that’s the way the world goes round...... Leaving the ground and walking past the Brooklands after a high tension game is a bit like the scene from Only Fools and Horses with the hoolies facing up to each other giving it large but then moving out the way and apologising to normal fans walking home. It will be high tension and there will be friction between the away fan idiots and ours in block 19 (not referring to you well behave block 19ers that stay in your seats) some will show themselves up and get arrested and banned but that’s normal.....

Martin O'Connor in charge for the rest of the season. Liked him in his brief stint in a town shirt.
Still want to relegate them on the last day though!

I hope we are safe by the time we play the Walsall. Then go on to really stuff them, but for them to stay up on goal difference. I really love all our local derby games. Great atmospheres, so the sooner Hereford & Wrexham et all get back to our division (though I can't see it happening soon) the better.
