Doing alright here. I think we were edging it for a time but even for the most part. Could go either way.

a fairly even game but neither keeper has been tested or very busy, town had two long range efforts from Docherty, Whalley broke through into a good position but hesitated with the pass and then ferjiri was offside (still should have done better with his shot) town have not put Southend under any sustained attacks i would suspects nerves are playing there part with some of the distribution and passes. Ferjiri not geting much service i do wonder about his confidence.
so second half does rickett change things to get a win or stay with what we have got.i expect Ferjiri to come off about 65 to 70 minutes.if Southend score you would expect them to close up shop, everything to play for in a crucial game.

Thats a superb finish. He can't have had a lot to aim at with the angle and the position of the keeper but managed to find the net anyhow. Nice move to open them up too.

Also, was Norburn’s sub tactical? He's been struggling all week in training. Was probably planned before the game.

town need to concentrate some sloppy play and inconsistent distribution, double substitution by Southend. town cant afford to switch off.

Whalley subbed and on comes Edwards, presumably to ensure Whalley does not get another card.

Wrexham 3 down at half time and waving goodbye to a chance of automatic promotion has cheered me up though they shared 6 goals in the end lost 4-2 ;-)

We could have played without a keeper today, he'll never get an easier game. The ironic cheers from the Southend fans when Mitchell fielded a tame effort in the 80th says everything. That said, we can only beat what's in front of us and we've often screwed up spectacularly in these circumstances so well done Town, a very important three points.

That's the most comfortable game we've played all season. Absolutely, think you have that spot on. Even towards the end there it wasn't really anything we were struggling to cope with. We're not the best side in the division but there are others down there struggling and we might just have enough to get out of this mess as its those sides we're up against these last few weeks. That was encouraging in that we did OK but also Southend may have given us an insight into what we might be up against in the run in. Hope so... Up to 15th. 15th!! Four points off the relegation zone. A good day...

Still only four points clear of 21st, 22nd and 23rd, an excellent win today but still plenty to do.

i was rather apprehensive about this game so main emotion is relief.town shoot up to 15th but just four points clear of a relegation place bottom four teams ,Walsall lose ,Wimbledon continue to improve as they pick up the winning habit. Rochdale draw and Bradford lose.
right now it is the results that count and this was what we needed.a fairly even first half then Ferjiri goal just highlights what a threat he can be.Waterfall goal just gave town some breathing space, towns defence were not really troubled and dealt with things fairly comfortably, i can only recall Mitchell making one save so that is the kind of start he would hope to have.hope Norburn is ok and did not go off due to aggravating his injury. Sc***horpe lose which is the third defeat on the trot so we have to replicate what we did today.
