They aren't over complimentary about Charles Cook. Don't anticipate Smith making much impression. Can't understand why we sign someone we can't play til next season.
It is indeed underwhelming.

I certainly wouldn't want to listen to that again in a hurry.
They were very dismissive of our new goalie. Not exactly a vote of confidence in Smith either.

Oh wow someone needs to play this to Mr Caldwell and Mr Wycherley
Dave Edwards, comes in and is injured Sam smith, thrown in at the deep end and not ready (view of oxford fan) Charles cook, one of the worst goalkeepers they have ever seen (view of Swindon and cov fans) Brad Walker, pointless signing
Well that sums up January pretty well so far

The amount of players that we’ve got rid of this window suggests our recruitment has been fairly poor under the previous 2 managers.
Hurst only brought in Bolton, Beckles and Eisa from Saturday’s squad.
There has to be players in the pipeline...surely.

How about we actually have some consistency summer to summer and build a team. Just a thought.

The only thing with this to put the opinions in doubt is that they said 'there are goals in Amadi-Holloway'. Not in my book

It's going to be an important week or so. Other clubs have managed to land some decent players but so far, I agree with that podcast, our transfer activity has been underwhelming. We desperately need some decent attacking options. From what I witnessed of Smith on Saturday, and given his track record, he is very much "a work in progress."

Think having a glut of sellable players didn't help as did Askeys random shopping in the summer.

Another transfer window is ending with Adam Henshall avoiding stick. How many poor windows have we had compared to good ones since his appointment?

How many poor windows have we had compared to good ones since his appointment? till your post i have never heard of him "Player profiling is different under different managers. Under the previous manager, it was League One ready players," " under paul it's attitude, application and willingness to work hard." ""When you change your manager, you change your system, shape, recruitment – everything changes from top to bottom." said Henshall. www.shropshirestar.com/sport/football/shrewsbury-town-fc/2017/06/08/adam-henshall-big-turnover-at-shrewsbury-town/

Never a good sign when there is major upheaval in the January transfer window.
The GK situation has me worried as I don’t think we will bring anyone else in. I am not convinced with Arnold as number 1.
We need Whalley fit ASAP!

I’m not sure what’s going on with recruitment. We appear to be clearing the decks but no additions that will significantly improve the first team, either there’s lots going on behind the scenes or Ricketts is happy with what he’s got. Pretty certain funds are and would be made available if required. Perplexed at this point.

It is often the case that the better players, or the more in demand players with multiple options to consider, move later in the window. Hopefully that will prove to be the case with some of those better players yet to join us this window.

Bringing in an experienced Asssistant Manager would be a start.

SR interview after the Blackpool game suggested more would be coming in didn't he? Patience chaps, I'd give it another week before taking the Private Frazer stance.

its the quality that worries me, everybody says the new keeper is awful so what does sr see in him? and oxford who are average at best release the striker and we take him? unless ricketts is a genius and sees the underlying potential then im baffled?
