Emma Hayes the Chelsea womens football team manager who won the double last season has stated she would like to be considered as a mans team manager. Just wondered what the reaction would have been on this board if she had been one of the contenders for th.e town job when JA left or at what level in the mans game she should enter at. Her appointment would certainly get the club who appoints her plenty of press coverage especially to start with. Personally think it will happen but maybe with a progressive National league club to start with.

Personally think it will happen but maybe with a progressive National league club to start with. at some point it will happen ,she has a proven history as a manager so she should be considered on her merits but when a former England ladies manager could not get a post it will not be easy. in answere to your question from wiki " she was formerly head coach of the Long Island Lady Riders between 2001 and 2003, head women's football coach at Iona College in New Rochelle between 2003 and 2006, and first team assistant coach and academy director for Arsenal Ladies between 2006 and 2008. Hayes landed the Chelsea Ladies job in August 2012," then compare a former international and football players with a few months as a manager on paper it should be a no brainier

It'll happen before long and I hope it does. Hopefully for the right reasons but, if not, then it'll happen because the owner of a lower league club will calculate that the marketing and publicity spin offs will make a woman coach a better choice than giving the job to some grizzled, taxi rank manager.
And the Liam Lawrence-type character? A smart woman would soon leave him looking like an embarrassed schoolboy.

I have read something today (can't remember which paper & unable to find the article now) but there is a female manager of a men's team in Germany. When asked if the players are expected to put pants on when she enters the dressing room, she replied "No. I pick the team by the size of their p*nis" Stutty any idea which club & level?

stupid post,no player will ever ever respect a woman in a managerial post fact Oh dear. got me searching for the " dislike" flag for a post again. Expect you are just teasing. If Maggie Thatcher, who I loathed, can gain and maintain the role of Prime Minister, then there is a woman going to come along who can manage a football team. Of course there might be a few failures, like Theresa May.

stupid post,no player will ever ever respect a woman in a managerial post fact There are directors of certain football clubs who know very little about football and are all about high profiles and attention seeking so it will happen. FACT

FACT Surely it's long overdue for us to have a female referee on the EFL list rather than restricting them to running the line and non-league matches?
