I know exactly how he feels I was unhurt in a crash last year too if any firms are listening that specialise in this, it wasn't my fault either give me a ring ps was it just me that saw this thread and the link and presumed to old git had died not sure if I was disappointed in finding the non story or that fact he wasn't dead I'll get my coat ;-)

Was he being chased by paparazzi on mopeds while driven by a drunk Frenchman?
I blame the Egyptians...

I’m sure the nearest NHS Hospital will soon have him up and about.

97 year old boy racer flips car. It's ok,he's not hurt, just shocked, I wonder how the other person is?
I trust he passed the obligitary breath test?
Something for the claims specialists to really make a name for themselves with.

Don’t want to be disrespectful, but, if he was found to have caused the accident, will he be prosecuted for dangerous driving, driving without due care etc..........or not.

If they feel he was in some way a little lacking in his driving then I think, bearing in mind the driver's age and good driving record, they would have a word with the driver and, if they agreed it was time to give up, the CPS might not press charges. What level of policeman is going to have that conversation in this case I wouldn't like to speculate. If the driver refused and it ended in a lost court case then no doubt he would have to retake the driving test.

It was unofficially reported that the low bright sun was a factor at the time of the accident. I must admit in the area where I live I was driving at about that time and yes visability was particularly difficult when driving towards the sunlight.
It is interesting how we and include myself in that come to the conclusion that age was a factor in the accident. If a younger person had pleaded that the sunlight was a factor in the accident then perhaps a different discussion would be on here.

In seriousness I cannot believe how much coverage this is getting.
Close up on tv of piles of glass, oh look a broken wing mirror......
I would understand a bit more if he was hurt or killed, but what really is the big deal??

I'm glad that the BBC in its report did eventually say that the occupants of the other vehicle were also ok (after hospital treatment).

I must get out more often. Ah, but wait a minute! Here's a Harrogate cat story:- www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/miracle-cat-finally-returns-to-harrogate-yorkshire-home-after-13-years-missing-1-9290387

I've a very nasty feeling that this incident will be turned round by the media into an attack on drivers over 70 retaining their licences.

If you regard sustaining a broken wrist as being o.k. then I suppose they were. The BBC news at 10 last night probably didn't have any more detail at the time. I assume. My point really was that the report was very much in the vein of the Duke was ok, doesn't really matter about the other members of the public involved in the RTA.
