Two things cross my mind. 1) The gate people need clear instructions to check every child's ticket. and 2) How have we managed to break a system that works? And alienate people who could have attended 9 games this season with their children? That is bonkers. The SP have to raise this. Yeah right, like they will get anything done

Season ticket holders purchase their own seat and nothing else.
The rest of the tickets are allocated to those with loyalty points.
Any left then go on general sale.
Hardly rocket science.

And there are big plans afoot for this weekend I cant say much about.... at the moment a lot of the time is focused on helping the club and community team with the ex powerleague bar. If the SP were not around you would be watching salop play in a clip art badge in a blue kit, with no fanzone, kids (6-12) paying for tickets and no option to use safe standing, among other things.

Any hope of getting in some bottled beer at the Power League for Saturday? They'd run out of bottled beer for the Charlton game, as their contract was with the Salopian Brewery, whereas I assume the Club's is with Woods. So clearly they aren't ordering any more. But technically the Club doesn't take over until February 1st. Please save me from vile keg Boddingtons if at all possible!

You're not wrong, Glyn. The SP have been brilliant. I do think though that with regards to the badge, the Bring Back The Loggerheads group deserve plenty of praise for getting the ball rolling.

Long term, I'd prefer the Club to deal with the local Salopian Brewery Company. Woods have been bought out by Yarrawaddie Brands, and personally I prefer the range offered by Salopian anyway.

Yes they do, they kept the fire burning and the SP with their assistance took up the mantel from campaign to action. Worked out pretty well in the end!

On face value that makes sense, two things which people would complain about though (and there's probably more):
1) I can only get one ticket so cant get a ticket/sit with my child/friend 2) Those going on general sale could easily be picked up by Wolves fans
Basically, whatever way they do it, we will always upset someone, particularly the 'I go home and away but don't get loyalty points so can't get a ticket' element.
On this thread there are two common themes/suggestions:
1) Season ticket holders have brought lots of tickets for gloryhunters or Wolves fans 2) That has deprived loyal fans with a small number of loyalty points, the chance to get tickets
On the first point, no one knows the numbers despite some exaggerated claims. Of course there will be some who have done that, but as has been repeatedly suggested, the more likely scenario is season ticket holders have been purchasing them for fellow town fans who aren't season ticket holders.
On the second point, maybe am I missing something but if they have only a small number of loyalty points, are they the die hard fans some are claiming? The reason I'm asking is I was speaking to a work colleague yesterday, he's a Telford fan but has been to a small number of our games this season and had accrued enough loyalty points to get a ticket for Saturday. Now I'd imagine the usual suspects will be ranting it's a disgrace that he has a ticket but if he has got one, surely most regular town fans will have accrued enough points to attend the game?

From listening to that I would suggest that, if like me, you emailed Mr Caldwell regarding the moving of the goalposts for this sort of scenario, which he quotes this has worked for us in the past, then I will not be holding my breath for a reply. Quite unbelievable really that they change the system (or did they) to get more children in and apparently only 300 kids tickets sold.

Is it possible for adults to use tickets issued for children to attend the match, or does the ticket reader on the turnstiles highlight that the ticket is a child’s ticket, and therefore is being used by some- one who is obviously not a child.

One word missing for the series of errors from long queues, phone problems (admitted they didn't work properly) inability to get certain tickets online, miss communications on twitter regards opening times and regular fans missing out was.....
Sorry
Not much to ask for the 100s of fans of might have been miffed by elements of this. That sort of thing goes a long way
I long got tired of the club saying they will learn and improve from this.... didnt we already do that 100s of times (admittedly not all under Brian!) and end up in a situation where there were STILL problems and fans are left chuffed off.

He keeps repeating that if there is anything the Club can do to improve matters then they'll try to do so. Hmmm.
Let's start by only allowing season ticket holders to purchase their own seats and nothing more. For some reason, he thinks they should be entitled to extra tickets.
And once again he admits that Ticketmaster is not fit for purpose, leaving many supporters to be obliged to queue in the cold. I doubt 'discussions' with them will improve matters one iota.

I understand that some people just turn up on the day and get their ticket round the back and that this means they don't get loyalty points, I've done it, saves up to 20 minutes some days and if it's cold or raining it's the quicker option. What I don't understand is doing that EVERY TIME. Surely you can turn up 20 minutes early once in a while or even come to the ground a couple of hours before kick-off and then go to the pub (works for me).
I've been to 5 games this season, I have 3 loyalty points and I got online at 8:45 yesterday morning, logged in, chose my 2 tickets and was done before my break finished. I have less right to get tickets to this game than a lot of other people do, but if I can work out how to get tickets and they can't my sympathy lies elsewhere. It really is quite simple, don't get one fancard per household, get one each, buy from the front desk or online.
I do agree with many though that the 4 tickets for STHs was ridiculous, but saying that if the club looked at the amount of people with fancards etc and worked out that there would be plenty to go around even with 4 for STHs that can't be just the clubs fault, if people aren't registered individually how are the club expected to know that you exist and therefore cater for you.
Everyone moaning on here and on facebook has access to the internet, so has no excuse for not registering online.

It seems going with ticket master was yet another master stroke in the legacy of Matt Williams. File alongside with Connor goldson wasn't worth over a million pounds.
Sympathy with those who missed out.
I'm usually a staunch defender where the frothing hyperbole gets too much. But in this case it looks like the club have dug their own grave.
Poor show all round.

I dont think the big issue for most supporters is the lack of tickets on loyalty point day, its the way that the club led everyone to believe there were maybe just under 3000 tickets left when in fact there was less than 200. I mean I logged on and got mine straight away but I think that many will have been misled and assumed they could get tickets at a later point in the day given the club gave the impression that they had the tickets for them.

you seem to think everyone fits the same mould. Alot of fans are self employed, have to work Saturday morning till 1pm or later then rush back home for change of clothes etc. Then decide if they actually can make it in time hence the quick ticket office back of west stand. Not everyone has the luxury of being able to map their matchday itinerary to the second. And who wants to make a separate journey before hand to get a ticket, defeats the object, adds to polution etc. So surely the club should operate a cash only turnstile on south and west stand, say block 12 and 13 to attract the casual fans or those that actually struggle to make kick off time ; certainly for league games. If the ticket allocation for big games was as it should be ,1 per fan registration, even those casuals would almost certainly get a ticket when on general sale

Rather than try and work out who's at fault with these things, whether it's the chairman, Brian Caldwell, the ticket office, ticketmaster, etc, I find it a lot easier to just blame Ian Whitfield.

I was gobsmacked today at 10.30 when just about to leave on a 60 mile round trip to get 2 tickets, I managed to get through to the club to be told not to bother. Unfortunately the system has let down the likes of me who attend around 15 to 20 games a season home and away as I prefer to pay cash on the day at the back of the stand rather than wait in a slow queue in the rain to get a point on my card (of which I have about 5). Same goes for away games I like to pay cash on the day. So my loyalty for seeing all of the cup games and a fair few league games counts for nothing because I don't find the phone/online/ticket office experience suits me. Could someone post Mr Caldwells email address on here please? First time ever I have been unable to get a ticket in 40 years, it can't just be me !!!! I'm the same always pay at the back of the stand, I find i miss less of the game this way. I've been to all the fa cup games this season but don't know how many points I would have as I can't prove that I have been to most of the games. Therefore i didn't get a ticket either, but due to the above i didn't even bother ringing up or going to the ground.

For those who use the West Stand ticket office, I think I'm right in saying that you can keep the ticket stubs and exchange them for loyalty points at the ground.
Not sure how much more they can do to be honest.

Not sure how much more they can do to be honest. I think the point is not how much more they can do but why did they need to change a system that worked. As one poster has said there wasn't a problem with the Charlton game at short notice, and for the life of me I don't know what Mr Caldwell is trying to prove in his interview, apart from trying to cover his or someone else's backside, without much credibility.
