Colchester away in Fred Davies promotion year. Two days after Reading Festival so too knackered to stand in away end! Bought a ticket to sit in the stand! Spent most of the game giving Fred dogs abuse as we were 3-1 down and we had just got battered 5-1 by Preston on their plastic pitch! Scored 2 goals. In injury time to grab a 3-3 draw and start our unbelievable unbeaten run.
Also remember going 1-0 up with a Tommy Lynch rocket from a cleared corner! Jumped up screaming like an idiot before noticing everyone else in the stand was staring at me. Sat down quietly and bloke next to me leaned over and said " I don't think you're from around here are you"! He gave me a lift to the train station after the game. Funny old game innit!

I went to Leyton Orient 1 year and we were 2-0 down and also down to 10 men. Somehow we came back and won the game 3-2. Austin Berkeley was sent off. Lee Steele was absolutely unplayable and that was probably the best league game come back. but to be away to a team in a higher division and be 2-0 down makes tonight a historic win one interesting fact. The only other time I can remember us being 2-0 down and bringing on a centre half was when Ian McNeil brought on Colin Griffin at Blackburn. Both full backs pushed on as wing backs and I think both scored. We came back to draw 2-2

The difference between the abject misery of the first half, compared to scoring 3, is very, very difficult to comprehend.

Yes I was at Leyton Orient for that. Didn’t Lee Steele come on and score? I had it in my head that a Town player got a hat trick that day, and perhaps it was Steele. I think Carl Griffiths may have been in the Orient side too. Yes me too and I’m sure it was Lee Steele.

I was there at that one too. Think you will find we got battered 6-1 at Preston, I missed that one thankfully.

5-0 down at half time. We drew the second half August bank holiday Saturday and am I right Mickey Brown scored for us?

I remember both the Orient game and also a 2-3 comeback against Bury in our promotion season in the 1990s. But I think considering how rubbish we are away at the moment and the fact Stoke were in cruise control it could well be the greatest.

For me personally, yes.
Especially when you consider the first hour.

Sheffield Wednesday in the 4th round of the cup back in 2016. 2-1 down in the 86th min then Whaley equalises and grimmer wins it in the 97th min. That was a good comeback. Sheffield Wednesday was the greatest comeback I've been present for. Must be up there in the top ten, maybe pushing for top five. There have been some notable near-comebacks too. Who was at the 4-3 with Peterborough in 2016? 3-0 down after 70 minutes, got back to 3-3 in the 89th minute, only for ex-Shrew Jon Taylor (inevitably) to score a 94th-minute winner! Purely from memory - STFC 6 Mansfield 3. 1959/60. I am pretty sure we were 1-3 down at half time but haven’t got time to check now.

You just can't compare comebacks in the league with comebacks in The FA Cup. You've got to love the magic of it. Embrace the history we've created In this years competition. Before Tues night we'd only won once in 29 attempts away from home in The FA cup against opposition from a higher division. We've only won once away from in the league this season as well so This makes Tues nights game truly remarkable. Its a game that's gonna live long in the memory. Definitely a game of two halfs. The support was superb there as well ( probably helped as Stoke bunched all our fans in 1 area) . Incredible night. So glad I was there

Again from memory, I think we scored six in two successive home games. Either the week before or the one after,we beat Southport 6-2. That one was level st half time. We were definitely a second half team in those days.
