I think we'll see the 4-3-3 formation used to frustrate Stoke in the first game get another outing this evening.

I guess the plan will be the same as the first tie and also what we saw at Sunderland. I'm thinking the game tonight will be similar to the five minutes of injury time we had to endure in the first game...

I know this game is still all square but my gut feeling is probably that of a Burton fan hoping to turn the city game around

Woods has long ceased to be relevant - he's not what we're missing because we'd never have been able to keep a player of his quality at this stage of his career.

With a full house guaranteed against Wolves in the next round they ought to get the chairman down there before kick off and at half time. Get 'em going...

Indeed. Can't see anyone in the current team who could emulate Woods and that is what is worrying.

Docherty may have that potential but he's not our player.

I'd have Waterfall in the middle of Beckles and Bolton with Fej upfront, this is the formation I think our squad suits perfectly. Sent from my SM-G950F using proboards

Ambitious outlook on our formation that day. 4 5 1 with Laurent running anywhere and everywhere as the ‘1’. Not sure he can do that with LJL & Norburn out. I hope we just bloody go for it. It’s a cup tie with an out of form opponent ffs. Play it like a cup tie, Sam!

we have absolutely nothing to lose ,considering our form and performances who gives us a chance, this is an ideal opportunity for Rickets to think out of the box with formation etc. how many people expect us to win so just try something personally i know playing the % and packing the midfield and hoping to get a goal is probably logical but just go for it i dont bet but we have odds of 16/11 for a win and 10/21 for a draw whatever that means ?

This is effectively a free hit tonight although I’ll probably be more disappointed to lose tonight then I was against West Ham last season when the reward for the winners was a trip to Wigan! So although I enjoyed the evening at the Olympic Stadium I wasn’t massively fussed when we lost, but Wolves at home is a tasty prospect! Still think we’ve thrown away our best opportunity of winning the game sadly.

has a new manager ever lost his first home game to lower league opposition before ?
