Out of interest is the questioning of his ability a common theme on here? I find him relatively consistent and have been impressed by the step up he's made from non-league to L1. I'm relatively happy with the contribution he's made this season and agree that a more central berth would get the best out of him. The lad hasn't become a bad player overnight.
I haven't seen much written about him this season, good or bad, which is surprising considering he's our record signing. I wouldn't say he's a bad player, but lots of games seem to bypass him and I'd question the value he has added this season, for me he has been overshadowed by Grant & Docherty.
I agree that a more central role would suit him better though

Ollie like some others has had some good games and was improving as a player. Most of the time he works hard and as a team player and he knows where the net is tho yesterday his lack of confidence in the goal area was evident again. he seems to get frustrated when others don't play as he would wish and argues with the other players. His temper needs managing. I don't think any of the players are 100% certain about what they are doing in this diamond and confidence is dropping again throughout the team I agree that Bryn Morris is a much better player, but the club seems determined to sell off our best players and bring in non league hopefuls. I agree it is good that we give some lower league/ non league players a chance, but not when we are close to being relegated. It is just me, but does the first paragraph sound like a school report! All that is missing is "well liked by his classmates"!

He won't be able to impress against Stoke City tomorrow evening, sadly he's suspended.

At times, I think he’s a very good player. Unfortunately, those times don’t seem to extend beyond 30-45 minutes and then I don’t really notice him again.
Does he lose interest? Does he lack stamina? Dunno, but he needs to do better.

Huge ego And thinks he’s much better than he is. Considering he’s our record signing he hasn’t offered much (most his goals have been penalties)

Bang average.
Could have gotten better for a lot less.
Ridiculous that Askey was allowed to spend large sums of money on another midfielder when we looked, and still look, so light going forward.
Hope we didn't spend to much on Angol as he appears to have mentally checked out since the Oxford game.

Not sure where the huge ego stuff has come from.
A good barometer of their character is the players social media. Norburn is a committed family man (same as laurent actually). Compare and contrast this with the barrage of egotistical posts from the likes of Colkett and certain departures from last season. And if anything norburn isn't arrogant enough.

Hmmmmm or it's just very well tailored...anyone with half a braincell can edit a social media persona to give off a decent image of themselves. The truth is often quite different, think we all work with or know people who are different in the flesh. A friend of mine did speculate that maybe a few players have had their egos bashed abit by the local media fanfare regarding David Edwards.

To be honest, like last season, the last thing we need now is the distraction of a cup run. If we were playing for nothing in mid table I would obviously feel different - the local media hoo ha over a game vs Wolves would be a massive distraction for the club.

That's hardly ever been the case in April, never mind the middle of January! As ever in the cup, it's unconditionally great if we win, especially as the Doncaster game's postponed anyway, but not a disaster if we lose. The "not a disaster" scenario is obviously the more likely outcome!

Oliver Norburn has elaborately created an online persona of being doted and passionate family man masking his true egotistical maniacal self.

That's not what I said, I simply meant that you can't use someone's social media account to judge what they could be like in person. Also, its not really that relevant to how he potentially preforms on matchdays and in training. Tbh the last thing we need at the moment is another general election. Don't think we can take much more voting 😉
