As much as I hate to agree with Pilch I would have to say that Smithys would very difficult to argue with. What better name for a supporters bar as a permanent reminder of what he did for so long for us supporters.

When the club take over the Power League bar I guess it'll see the same range of beers that are already in the other hospitality areas... don't the club have contracts with Molson Coors and Woods to supply beers at the ground? Woods have also been long time sponsors of the club whereas Salopian have never had anything to do with STFC as far as I can remember which is a shame as it is probably my favourite local brewery, but with Woods now having been sold maybe things could change in the future if the new owners aren't particularly interested in STFC.

there are a number of micro breweries in Shropshire so it would be nice if some of them were introduced

What about a sign hanging as you enter the bar to lift the spirits : Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter Here.

Voted for Smithys. Didn't know the guy, but sounds good anyway and it means something if named after a supporter.

ideally if named after smithy it should be called the away supporters bar
just imagine the chaos it would cause when away fans get turned away ;-)
