In my opinion Tranmere need to dust themselves down and move onto next week.

Let’s not forget Mickey Mellon was manager when we hosted Mourinho’s Chelsea in the cup, only losing late on 2-1. And , we were also a League Two club. We can take the p**s all we want, but MM gave us some great games in the cup, and league.

It's only human nature ,as football fan to have a wry smile when one of your rival teams get a whopping, and have a little laugh at their expense We all do it. For me seven-nil has been a long time in waiting for Tranmere. The arrogance their fans displayed when they dropped to the National League deserved five of those goals alone. 'We're gonna p**s this League' etc. It took them 3 seasons
Obviously they've played a very good side. Third in the Premier League...and able to bring Kane on as sub...speaks volumes. Tottenham would've given most clubs in the football pyramid a hiding tonight.
It's a flipin' shame they couldn't have made it 10

The way Tranmere played tonight reminded me a bit of how we played against Manchester United in the cup a few years ago. Right from the off Tranmere seemed scared to commit any players forward and just kind of sat there waiting for Spurs to pick them off - which with the quality Spurs have was always going to see them score.
Mellon seems to have lost a bit of his spark in recent years - As haughmond says when we played Chelsea we really went for it and gave them a bit of a scare, and in other cup games under Mellon we played attacking football against higher level sides. Seems in recent years Mellon has lost a bit of his edge and settled for a defensive set-up instead. I know top Premier Teams can take lower league sides apart and you don't want to go out and out attack stupidly, but at least trying to get a result, especially at home should surely be what lower league sides should do not just put 11 men behind the ball for 90 minutes

I haven't looked, but I take it the match was on tele. The viewing figures must have dropped dramatically as the goals went in.

I thought Tranmere made a decent go of it in the first half but then all the hard work undone by one lad getting caught in possession on the edge of the box (when he should have done a lot better). Second half was awful for the neutral, mind. Turned off after Tranmere were kind enough to allow Son to run the length of their half unopposed to score the simplest of goals... Anyhow, sure Tranmere are happy enough though with Mellon and how things are going. He got them back into the league and they're currently just outside the play offs. Not bad that. And they're not the only side of late to get a tanking from Tottenham...

Let's all laugh at Tranmere! Even in Chester and Telford... I don't think you've got any room to laugh, they only conceded three more than you did in your cup final against a bang average Newport, Tranmere were playing Tottenham.

For me seven-nil has been a long time in waiting for Tranmere. The arrogance their fans displayed when they dropped to the National League deserved five of those goals alone. 'We're gonna p**s this League' etc. It took them 3 seasons The sheer arrogance of it, 3 seasons. Might just remind you that when Town went down many of our fans were just as arrogant and had every right to be as we got back up on ONE. We didn’t quite p**s it but we did what we had to to return. I guess there is very little arrogance amongst Wrexham fans these days after so long out of the Football League............. That said I do have a good feeling whenever one of the ex FL teams manages to get back to where they belong, looks like there might well be another club coming back up to rejoin us this season. Leyton Orient will always be welcome back, they do deserve it after all they have been through in recent years. And I do wish Wrexham all the best and hope they get into the play offs so they can call this season a successful one, even though they will probably feck it up against the might of Salford City or Harrogate. Bye.....
