'And I tend to agree that I think he’s filling in at left-back and has done an excellent job. You don’t play the amount of games he’s done there without playing well'. Matter of opinion of course, but perhaps Ricketts wasn't at Blackburn, the play off final, or most of the games Beckles has played this season.
Perhaps he based it on the fact he played there the majority of last season and was voted in the team of the year for the division

He has done well to step in and help get us to the final last year. He is not a LB and I would love to see him have a run of games playing there, I think he has all the assets to be a success there.

The selection of Beckles in that team of the year still baffles me to this day. Anyway, for someone who played there for a fair % of last season with sufficient success to have been voted into that team, it cannot be denied that his performances this season have been disappointing.

Indeed. It is truly baffling that the panel of 72 EFL club managers selected Omar Beckles to the left back position for L1 team of the season 17-18 whereas the sages of blue and Amber did not.

As far as I'm concerned, the moment our season started to come apart last season was the injury to Brown. Although Beckles did his best in a position that was unfamiliar to him, the balance of the side was disrupted and we were not anywhere near as convincing in the remaining games.

Would like to see Harry Burgoyne and Sam Surridge join us on loan though I hear the keeper might well be a surprise, left wing back Ryan Giles would be an excellent one too but he’s on the verge of first team football at Wolves, Niall Ennis is another young Wolves lad that might be a target too

What this presumably means is that we've told Huddersfield he won't be getting a game for us now that we are out of the Checkatrade, so if they want him to play some games they'd better find someone else to take him on loan.

Ryan Barnett loan to Telford renewed for the remainder of the season.

Sam Jones also expected back. Played up front for Grimsby before he joined us. Chance to prove his worth. Option from the bench or is he league 2 standard?

Sam Jones returned a few days ago, see earlier in this thread.

Jones, Gnahoua and Loft all still vulnerable presumably?
And I'd assume we are open to any reasonable offer re Morris and Angol.

Only on loan with Burnley paying most of his wages! Burnley now have 2 other England keepers fit in Pope and Heaton, though Championship Clubs are looking to take Heaton on loan.

If I was looking to bring a keeper ‘back’ I’d be hoping to get David Buttion on loan from Brighton

Leutwiler, Neal and Halstead for example.

Leutweiler not getting any games for Blackburn...and will be nearing the end of his contract there? Button would a massive coup, he played in the Brighton 1st team recently

Leutwiler would be a regressive step. Never the same keeper after that injury he sustained against Grimsby.

Is there any substance in Danny Batth heading this way? Ricketts links again I'm guessing.

so, that's 4 out (Jules, Kennedy, Hendrie, Coleman) 1 nearly out (Morris) and 2 or 3 more questionable (Loft, Jones, Gnahoua).
In the meantime we've effectively only brought 1 in so far (Edwards) as Walker can't play for us til next season.
However, none of the 8 I've mentioned have been anywhere near the 1st team apart from Coleman.
