Totally agree zen. I mean it's not like in the last 15 seasons our best keepers have been Joe Hart, David Button, Luke Daniels, Jason Leutweiler and Dean Henderson now is it. All of whom had barely 50 professional games before they started playing for us and in some cases less than 20. i can see this has caused a few responses so let us agree to disagree and move on. Probably best you admit you're wrong. Our best five keepers in the last 15 years have been inexperienced.

Why would I agree to disagree with your fundamentally wrong point. Experience counts for little when matched against quality. Id be happy to put a 16 year old in goal if they were good enough and had the pre requisite mental capability for league football. Arbitrarily assigning an 'experience' tag is pointless. What is 'experience'? 1 game? 10? 100? 500?

There is a difference between bringing in a young goalkeeper in the summer when they can ease their way into the club during pre-season, as was the case with most of those listed, and throwing them into the demands of a League 1 relegation battle in January. Button came in as an emergency loan, in the pre transfer window days due to an injury crisis, again a slightly different scenario his initial loan was only for a few games before it was extended.
If Rickets is signing a new goalkeeper I think the implication is he is looking to replace Arnold, otherwise there is no need to send Coleman back.

I'm led to believe that the Jack Price rumour may prove to be true. He's keen on a move back to the UK. Edwards is a given. Money not an issue. I personally don’t believe this even though I would love him to come to shrewsbury. But I have just seen Jack Price in the town centre with his girlfriend . Wouldn’t look into it to much because he’s from shrewsbury and more than likely just visiting family

Telford lad and Wolves left wing back Ryan Giles would be welcomed He would have to do s lot to convince me with the words “Telford” and “Wolves” on his cv., but then again our manager has Telford, Wolves, and Wrexham on his, so he is surely due some better luck.

I’d like to see Jon Taylor come in on loan from Rotherham. Seems to be a sub for them typically and he would add a threat to our wide areas

depending on how serious Lewis injury is we are down to Holloway, ferjiri and Angol. i dont know what is going on with Angol but i would hope Rickets will be looking for a forward as long as someone suitable is available.

Four new players coming in next week inc Dave Edwards subject to medical. Give us a source ... My sisters best friend from work has a cousin who is having an affair with a lady who used to be a cleaner at the Meadow. She has now moved on but her husband who doesn't know about the affair makes deliveries on a regular basis to the Meadow. Despite not knowing about the affair he considers himself to be a very observant chap and in the last week whilst making deliveries he has noticed four strange cars on the Meadow car park. Not only that but when he was walking passed the medical room with a parcel he saw Dave Edwards in the nude being asked to cough by a man in a white coat. Obviously putting two and two together he thought this was important information to pass onto his best friend who is a big town supporter. On turning up at his house he was surprised to see his wifes car outside and the bedroom curtains closed. He thought this was strange so he phoned me. He told me what he had found out at the Meadow but I couldn't really get into much of a conversation to find out more as I was busy in the bedroom. I will try to get more information this week.

It does look odd but I guess it depends on who leaves. If Walker also signs and then Morris and Loft both leave for example we're back where we were in terms of midfield numbers.

Wouldn't mind that Sam surridge coming on loan from Bournemouth, just gone back there from oldham----banged the goals in for them

Wouldn't mind that Sam surridge coming on loan from Bournemouth, just gone back there from oldham----banged the goals in for them I agree but competition looks stiff with Portsmouth amongst others said to be interested. As well as Dave Edwards, Reading also transfer listed Marc McNulty today. They paid a big fee to Coventry for him last summer so that would likely be a problem for us but he could be a possibility for a loan deal.

McNulty signed a 4 year contract with Reading only last July. He doesn't need to be in much of a hurry to leave! So yes, maybe a loan with Reading paying some of his wages.

Still no news on Luke Hendrie. The indications out of Grimsby late last week were that they expected it be be sorted out very soon.
There is a suggestion, probably just speculation, on the Grimsby forum that Sc***horpe may be interested. McCall is certainly a big fan of Hendrie and wanted to keep him at Bradford when he was transferred to Town last January.

'And I tend to agree that I think he’s filling in at left-back and has done an excellent job. You don’t play the amount of games he’s done there without playing well'.
Matter of opinion of course, but perhaps Ricketts wasn't at Blackburn, the play off final, or most of the games Beckles has played this season.
