On Red Passion their fans are full of praise for their performance tonight and how well they think they played. Jesus. Guess that's a reflection of how long they've been down there in non league land. They had the better chances in a game against high flyers in the league above. I bet if we played Villa at home in round 3, the game was dire for the neutral but Salop drew 0 0 and could have won it, we’d be happy too. I’m happy to see Ricketts has built a conference team that competes with a good League side.

A week ago we were told the 80 applicants for the job were whittled down to just a few and the interview process would begin. I wonder how that went and if Sam Rickets will do well in his interview?

Ricketts' departure from The Racecourse has left a slight 'bad taste. He is Gone. Our club & fans won't put up for his conduct in this matter. He even conned the fans at the Turf . Absolutely refuted links to Shrewsbury. 'I'm going nowhere' etc He must've had the lines rehearsed for last two press interviews... 'I've had no contact with Shrowsbury...' 'I've STILL had NO contact with Shrowsbury...' The way he's conducted himself with affairs leaves a lot to be desired. What does the remainder of our 3-year contract mean? What compensation when cheeky bastusd from nearby and nick a potentially promising young manager? It would've been legally 'proofed' by WFC that 'Snake Man' Ricketts wasn't at the game tonight. Also, it would've taken the wee wee? Just imagine. The Sam Ricketts household. Presumably, no flipin contract has been signed till Monday morning? That's when the deal gets signed. A contract.. It hasn't been flipin' signed yet? He won't be welcome back at Wrexham..unless he comes up trumps in the clubs Euromillions/Thundelball lotteries?? Has he cleared his desk yet?? Wow, that was a hard read...obviously troublesome posting on here when English is your second language! Could it be Wrexham’s Board aren’t exactly being 100% honest about Towns approach for SR as to admit they’ve let him talk to us would get their fans on their backs?

Well lettuce see now......
There was the compensation for the slithering Juan going to Ipswich - undisclosed
Nolan and Nsiala - £1.8 million.
Sell on for Ryan Woods - £1.2 million.
Sell on for Connor Goldson - £500 thousand
Stefan Payne - £200.00
I've probably forgotten lots of others. We've had to pay Chester City to hide most of the money under the mattress.
Well well well? You've got more money than Percy Thrower Garden Centre! This is going to cost you. The rumour is £100k. That includes nullyfying the contract etc Pure profit. £100k £100k? To pay off SR’s contract and some compensation to Wrexham? Sounds like he’s been on a pittance at Wrexham...no wonder he’s jumped ship for Town - sounds like a decent pay rise for the lad! Also, Ricketts knows Danny Coyne from their international days, and Eric Ramsey from WFA Coaching Courses.

As you say, always a different opinion as a neutral compared to rooting for one of them. Not sure it's Rickets team though, didn't he pretty much inherit them?

Any guesses what time a Press Conference will be called for tomorrow at Montgomery Waters Meadow Stadium? They should give the exclusive interview to the trainee reporter at The Star who leaked the story, on Friday at first to the Star, and secondly the BBC... It's not his fault. Chairman of STFC has tipped him off... This trainee-reporter is now frothing at eventually coming up with a scoop.. Hardly a scoop. Considering all the hype. On Ricketts' part? He puts it out on Shropshire Star & contacts the BBC to get his recognition Ricketts has played a game with the club & fans of WAFC. Shrews were denied permission to talk to him last Thursday. Came back soon later with exactly the same contract-release fee. They knew... The same day he quoted "I've still had no approach..." 'Otherwise, 'Come and get me..' or complete surprise, and no dealings with STFC...
Now? Ricketts is 'in between jobs' before he signs a deal It would raise an eyebrow if STFC only give him an 18-month contract after paying to releae him from a 3-year contract at Wrexham?
This is all Ricketts' doing. If I could give him one piece of advice tonight. It would be...
You can't take the p**s these days. Especially.... if you're not clever enough

Well you should know about that. Mind you, the whole situation is a fee ass co. It's not fair on Wrexham or us.
Unless there's something going on that we don't know about, I hope the rumour isn't true, and if it is, that it's all been carried out above board.
I have to say, naughty, I always enjoyed my visits to The Racecourse. It looks a bit posher since my last visit.

Cannot see why Dave Edwards should come in as his assistant. Seems like the only basis for this is that he once played for us. If he came where would the steadying influence, the experienced voice, come from. Ricketts is a good punt, bags of experience as a player, and at the top level, and a young and I hope ambitious manager. When John Askey was appointed you could hardly say he was ambitious, he stayed at one club for years, eventually getting them promoted after years of trying. Let’s hope the new man achieves better within a shorter time-scale. Or we get rid. love it how when a manager leaves a club to come here , he’s ambitious . When hurst leaves to join another club he’s a snake !

When he had already agreed to join that club before the most important game in our recent history. Snake is a pretty accurate description.

No deal agreed, STFC asked for permission to speak to Wrexham and agreed compensation (as per Askey and Macclesfield) Negotiations with Ricketts on going over the past few days. In my opinion Wrexham's biggest game in recent history was the play off final defeat to Newport County.

When he had already agreed to join that club before the most important game in our recent history. Snake is a pretty accurate description. Don’t you think we’d spoken to Rickets prior to asking permission from Wrexham? When you look at the timescale, initial request made on Thursday and declined. Another request made late Thursday which coincidently hit the release clause. So Friday the first opportunity to talk to Ricketts and with BC already quoted as saying 80 applicants had been whittled down to 4 for interview prior to this it appears we interviewed him Friday and tipped off Tim Nash to break the storey on the same day (Friday)..... or was it Ricketts? So first contact Thursday and decision on Friday ..... don’t think so! Its obvious either he applied early on or we approached him (one of the first names mentioned when Askey left) we spoke to him (maybe through his agent) prior to asking Wrexham and on Friday made him an offer (he’s thinking about something) Couple of flies in te ointment for him. He’s on a 3 year contract and I can’t see us offering an unproven non league manager 3 years after getting it wrong with Askey’s. We’re in a stronger negotiating position due to the reaction of the Wrexham fans and board, can he stay at Wrexham now? Cant understand Salop fans reaction to Mrs Caldwell’s news regarding clearing his desk, it was obvious from the Monday after the playoff final...... Seems we’ve probably been talking to Ricketts for weeks similar to Ipswich with Hurst.... Plenty of assumptions here but also with Hurst, we were talking about him going to Ipswich way before the playoff final and discussing every quote from the Ipswich chairman, yet shocked and disgusted when it happened, that’s modern football, it’s a business now run by ruthless businessmen not gentlemen.....

In my opinion Tapping up happens in 99% of managerial changes . Also in my opinion the 1% who do it by the book are Fulham , who promptly appointed Raineri 24 hours after the previous manger left , which was great work considering they couldn’t have spoken to him when the other manager was in place . Brian caldwell said this was all above board aswell.

PH asked the club about permission to speak to ITFC i april of this year, with a view to moving at the season end, but was denied this by STFC, he tried to do it the right way, but the club put up the barriers, and that is why PH and BC/RW fell out.... that stubborness hurt the club more as by the PH had lost interest as he had decided he was going......
