I do hope Mr Johnson is receiving counselling right now, I would not wish a ditch demise on anyone and he must be feeling very low by now after his signed letter was completely ignored.

Meanwhile, Keith Vaz finally faces a 6 months ban and an automatic recall petition. Another day, yet more examples of the total double standards of the tories;
- melting down the commemorative 50p coins. In conjunction with wasting £100m on "get ready for leaving on 31 October" propaga- sorry, "adverts", the "party of fiscal responsibility;
- Boris loses a vote 3 times, changes the rules to get the result he wants. What is it they keep telling us about how you can't keep voting till you get a result you like?
- Boris handing over £7bn from the European Investment Bank to get his deal through. Talk about "surrender".

He needs to go full stop . He can then devote his time to redecorating his home ! And now, having been excoriated and eviscerated by the Commons Standards Committee, he's almost immediately played the sickness card and admitted himself to hospital, claiming he has been suffering from mental health issues for the last 3 years. The reason it's taken so long to deal with him is that he's been sending in sick notes. Yet this alleged illness hasn't prevented him from continuing to draw his salary, sit on the Justice Select Committee, and represent his constituents. www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/keith-vaz-admitted-to-hospital-as-he-faces-six-month-commons-suspension-over-cocaine-scandal-a4272881.htmlen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keith_Vaz

Talk about "surrender". Why are they melting down 50 pees, surely they were not stupid enough to put a leaving date on them? Those that sneak through without getting melted down are going to be worth something in the future. Poor old Boris, the DUP have accepted all our money he gave them and refused to see it for what it was; a bribe. Parliament is sticking up for democracy and Britain is being represented in the EU by Brexit party clowns determined to wreck EU relations. The answer is in Boris' hands though, play it straight. Rule out no-deal, it isn't a viable option and without the threat of no-deal you can move all the blame to the opposition.

I can't take much more of this!
Downing Street has confirmed it will withdraw the general election bill if MPs attach amendments to extend votes to either 16 and 17-year olds, or EU nationals.
Boris Johnson’s spokesman had already said such a move would bring “administrative chaos”, and go against the convention that changes to the franchise are done over time and via consultation, but went no further.
However, a No 10 source confirmed such amendments would be fatal to the bill.

The amendments on extending the franchise to give EU nationals and 16 and 17-year-olds the right to vote in the general election have not been selected by the Deputy Speaker, Lindsay Hoyle.
This means the prospect of the government facing a defeat on these issues, and then deciding to pull the bill, has probably been removed.
How on earth did the government steer Bercow away from making a decision on this? He'd surely have selected these amendments.

Corbyn is an arse and has revealed his true colours - he does not care a jot about the country. The obvious thing to do was insist on a referendum- this election will only be about Brexit but will likely saddle us with 5 years of Tory misrule.

Not necessarily so. inews.co.uk/news/politics/general-election-2019-polling-latest-sir-john-curtice-minority-parties-snap-election-boris-johnson-821885"It's an election that Boris Johnson has to win", he said, "If he does not get a majority or something very close to it, he will not be able to stay in government because the Conservatives do not have any friends elsewhere. "The Labour Party, by contrast, at least has the possibility of doing a deal with the SNP, a deal with the Liberal Democrats, getting the support of the Greens and maybe even the DUP not standing in their way."

Can't see even Labour being that daft. Joking aside it's a shame there's no credible opposition to stop complacency with the Tories and keep them in check.

Regardless of party politics, surely it's time for a change at the local level? With Future Fit looming, brexit (in theory) close to being resolved, I think we need somebody a bit closer to the detail to represent us in parliament over the next few years.

Think there is a desire in the town to get rid of Daniel regardless of party loyalty, didn't the labour candidate close the gap by a fair bit last election?

Where has the opposition been the last 3 years where the government lost its majority, wasn't able to implement its brexit plan and wasn't able to implement its domestic agenda. Where are Labour?

At least we'd have somebody both the Americans and the Europeans actually take seriously at the helm. BoJo can only dream of enjoying the same level of respect on the global stage as Blair did.

Time for some essential tactical voting.
If you're in a Labour/Lib Dem/PC seat, vote for that party.
If you're in a Tory seat, vote for whoever has the best chance of beating them, even if that party wouldn't have been your first choice.

Here in Worcester Lib Dems are in 2nd place behind the Tories but only 2000 votes separated the two parties last time.

No nicko. Martin expects a decent thought out strategic brexit policy that handles all the nuances and amendments needed. Turns out all Labour need to say is something like 'no deal is better than a bad deal', 'this is a great deal' or even 'let's get brexit done'. All that waffle Labour have made clear about their brexit policy im afraid just doesn't cut the mustard. All the complexities must be handled in a single soundbite or its way too complex to comprehend.
