I still look to see how Tranmere are getting on, and like NWM Accrington is another. Oh, and for no particular reason Morecambe as well...

Yes it’s strange how some clubs just hit the imagination for varying reasons - good or bad!!!!

in the interest of balance I notice that Macclesfield are doing badly too. Can see them really struggling this season tbh. They couldn’t afford to run last season without getting promoted and needing to kick on, and they are having to do it without Askey who was some sort of miracle worker there last season.

I think there will always be a fondness for Micky Mellon amongst town fans and most will be pleased if Tranmere do well. He will get a decent reception on any return with them to the Meadow. Not his fault he left us. He was just out of his depth in Division One and advice from his good friend Big Sam too often including the disappointing display against Utd. I don't think the same can be said of PH. If we were to be drawn against them in the FA Cup at home it could prove to be quite interesting. Accrington is another result I always look for but don't know why. I think its just about supporting the underdog. They are a proper football club. Telford have never been of interest but now look for their results as Gavin Cowan is a great bloke and maybe a future town manager.

Would be very interesting to draw Ipswich at home in the FACup, especially this season. Doubt it will quite rival John Bond against Burnley though.

I met some good lads in the Morecambe supporters lounge at their old ground at Christie Park. Still in contact with them whenever I go to Morecambe. Like Accrington, another proper club, though I do believe they've had problems with owners.

Shrewsbury W0 D2 L2. Ipswich W0 D2 L2.
A certain symmetry there.

Shrewsbury W0 D2 L2. Ipswich W0 D2 L2. A certain symmetry there. Also some of our fans are saying why bring in non league Askey with his non league players? And some Ipswich fans are saying why bring in lower league Hurst with his lower league players

IF we did do well and JA got us to the play offs or better no reason why he wouldn’t act like PH....
team am I always look for the result of is Stockport County having met a group of their fans in the Crown before a game at the old ground they were being recorded and met us entertained with ‘County’ songs which were all individual to Stockport like ‘The Scarf My Father Wore’ great supporters having gone through awful times but still get around 3,000 in the 6th tier...

If Hurst was still here would we be any better off?
I'm not sure, and by that I mean, replicating last seasons form/start.

If Hurst was still here would we be any better off? Yes. In what way, and I clearly stated in terms of replicating last season's start.
