Only 3 home defeats in 12 months, Mellon managed 4 in 6 weeks at the start of last season. It's a remarkable turnaround.

This man has given us back our sense of pride in our club and matchdays now are an unbelievable experience . The atmosphere today (and for the last few games) has been tremendous and it's great to look around and see so many happy faces, young and old alike. I just hope he stays with us to continue the dream .

Also, close to 5800 home fans there today, which is fantastic considering the weather!
Closer to the magical 6000 take Brian Caldwell keeps taking about...renewed hope it glory seekers?

"I knew from speaking to them that they were not sure what they would be doing from game to game because they were changing for the opposition". Confirms what we all knew about MM's tactics. Tranmere fans say he's doing exactly the same there.

"Now, I think there is a lot more appreciation of what it means to be playing for Shrewsbury Town."

Anyone who has ifollow. 30 min interview today with Hurst about the last 12 months. Good listen. An excellent listen. What shines through from that is why Hurst has been successful wherever he's been. It's because he's a good manager. Not just as in football manager, but in terms of the skills a good leader and manager needs in any line of work. The part at the end where he talks about staff members going above and beyond, and his own attitude to his dealings with people speaks volumes. I know it's easy to speak highly of someone when you look at the current league table, but I really liked PH last season, and regardless of results, think he is a great guy and asset to our club.

We lost 14 games with Hurst in charge over the last twelve months, that's versus Mellon/Coyne's 12 in a little under 3 months....
Now that's a turnaround, if we carry on improving under Hurst then we will be in good place by May
