We are in a chance now?
Surely more than a 'decent' start now?

Why not. We’ve gone well beyond flash in the pan territory and are now looking good for promotion. The only concerns would be the retention of key loanee’s, injuries to players and of course PH and CD not being tempted away. There’s nobody in this league any better than us.

For me after Bristol Rovers I think it's all about us now. By that I mean that if we can maintain the same standard then we're going up. We wiped the floor with them first half and I see them as about par score come 3rd division football. After that it's not a case of whether we're good enough, just whether we can keep it up. I think Tuesday is when it really dawned on me...

Absolutely. We've been ****ing excellent all season so far, have reasonable squad depth and I'd be pretty confident that we'll keep PH and our key players for at least another few months - they might be of the Nigel Clough view that they'd be happy to leave once promotion looks out of the question/guaranteed but won't leave while the season's still in progress.
I think Wigan will win the title - GD is often a better indicator than points in the early stages of a season of how good a team is, plus they'll spend plenty in Jan if need be. Think we've got a very real shot of automatics, though: I'd say about 50/50.

Well, we've won against a different sort of team today, who clearly came to frustrate and time waste, so that's a positive sign.
At the moment though it looks like only us and Wigan are showing any consistency, but that can change.
So, I'm still in get to 50 points and see where the season takes us mode.
Whatever happens, it's the most fun I've had at football for years.

10 points clear of playoffs is petty significant so early in the season

10 points clear of playoffs is petty significant so early in the season Indeed. It practically wipes 4 games off the end of the season. Back in August, I’d have settled for 10 points off the playoffs the wrong side of the table come May. Now, with this start, I’d be gutted!

retention of key loanee’s Only Godfrey and Ebou Adams that are not season-long, so really just Godfrey we need to get signed up till rnd of season.

Hurst has had his 46 games now, 76 points and well into the play offs.
Considering that includes the dogs dinner he inherited last season, and this is nothing short of a miracle already.
Of course we probably won't get promoted, but my goodness this is the best chance we will ever have.

I think it’s time for some fans to stop thinking up excuses as to why we won’t get promoted.
Finishing mid table and avoiding relegation....popycock
We are top truly on merit and this week has demonstrated how we can play against different formations.
We are going to see more of the spoiling tactics aka Fleetwood in the coming weeks........

We are on top because we are the best and let’s not shy away from admitting that. Every other team in this division will now know about us and will seek to counter us at every turn. It’s up to us to make sure we prevail

started to believe after about 4 or 5 games when Hurst took over.got the shower he was left with fitter and better organized, which ultimately led us to winning games at home, which gave us supporters some hope of stopping up.so I think the foundation was laid last season.hurst has done two simple things, got the team very fit and organized them superbly, and I must say it's been a pleasure to watch them this season---- can they get promoted,I don't know------ but I can tell you one thing,it's gonna take a bloody good team to beat them at the 'medda'

I believe this bunch of players can achieve something truly historic. I have to say this is what makes me so impressed with PH and his colleagues work since they've come in. As far as I'm concerned he's put together a squad that has my dream profile. A balanced squad of young, hungry players on the up, loanees with great potential, the quality of which we couldn't afford to buy, older professionals who actually care about our club and most of all a great attitude to work and effort. I'd pay to see this any day of the week from the club I love, regardless of results. However, I believe the results are coming in no small measure because of this. For this reason I agree, I think something historic is on the cards. It's already the best team I've ever seen in my over 25 years supporting, and barring a collapse of ratcliffian proportions it's going to be the highest league position and 3rd tier points total by a considerable distance in that time too. And it's still October!!

Felt like a massive moment as Toto’s header went in today, for the first time I think we can do it.

We should all follow Paul Hurst's dose of mindfulness training: enjoy every moment of this historic run and not look further forward than the next game; see where it takes us.

I've been watching Shrewsbury since 1968,and this is one of the best teams I've seen for a long long time.probably the last team to compare with this one is the team of '79' which is no mean feat.keep going lads and see where it takes us

We're going to have a lot of angry "supporters" if we're not in the championship next season 😂😂😂 There will be a lot of angry supporters even if we are in the Championship next season. The reality is, life in the Championship will be tough, very tough. Newer fans seduced by any success from this season will have to harden up to the realities that life as a Town fan is hard going and it really is a case of 'you have to taste the bitter to really enjoy the sweet.' The expectations of many fans will be such that they are indeed angry if we don't do well next season and there will even be some who are angry if we don't win the Champions League three years from now! That's football fans for you. But let's get this season out of the way first. We're doing well. Although those bog seats still need sorting. No joke, they really do.

If we can keep Hurst, I believe.
Is it 78 points from 46 league games for him now? Unbelievable what he has done.
Keep an eye on Sheff Wednesday, he supports them and their manager could be close to the sack soon.

Keep an eye on Sheff Wednesday, he supports them and their manager could be close to the sack soon. That is worrying me slightly - there is some unrest at Hillsbrough and it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest to see the current Wednesday manager get the boot. However I understand Wednesday are under foreign ownership and therefore may go for the glamourous overseas option (well heres hoping).
