I hope the BBC don't start showing the results in this format if so we will all need to study for a maths degree just to watch Final Score.

Listening to Paul Hurst post match comments..said he been told that Shrewsbury were a poor side on the ball. Don't know who had said it but he seemed less impressed with the comment!

I think that was a dig a Rosler - didn't he mention that we were a team that could only counter-attack? Saying that, if he'd had a scout at the Bristol Rovers game, the first half looked like 45 minutes of counter-attacking football!

Nothing better than beating a team who had defended since the 15th minute with a last-minute goal of our own. Their game plan was shameful for a side who are aiming for the play-offs. Their manager is an absolute clown and their away following was also an utter embarrassment.

Their manager is an absolute clown and their away following was also an utter embarrassment. When they started time-wasting half way through the first half, I turned to my eldest and said we'd score an winner in added time...close enough in the 89th minute! They say good teams can win ugly and can score important late goals...could be this be our season (finally?)

This is an article from the Fleetwood Gazette by Rosie Swarbrick. Makes interesting reading
Shrewsbury are this season's Fleetwood
Shrewsbury boss Paul Hurst has taken all of the ingredients that made Uwe Rosler's side the surprise package and a force to be reckoned with last season.
Rosler's side mounted an automatic promotion push on the back of an 18-game unbeaten run that saw them surge up the table from November onwards - the key to that run was built from the back on clean sheets.
Hurst's side are of a similar vein with their pressing, playing on the counter with a spirit and confidence and defensive skill that saw them stop a team that had scored in every league game prior to Saturday from actually mustering a shot on target never mind a goal.
Aristote Nsiala popped up with a late header to win the game and he put in a talismanic performance in both boxes that was reminiscent of Cian Bolger's form for Fleetwood last season.
All in all Shrewsbury were worthy winners and showed that same top six mentality and never say die spirit that saw Fleetwood pick up some vital 1-0 wins last term on their road to glory.
Fleetwood's attempt at toppling Hurst's men was to follow a similar and physical path to Plymouth who drew 1-1 with the Shrews by parking the bus rather than to play the pretty-passing football that Bristol Rovers opted for and saw the Shrews put them to the sword with a 4-0 midweek win.
It could have worked had Town's counter-attacking prowess not been under par with luck and that final pass just alluding the Fleetwood forwards and that set-piece sickener that I will get to in a moment...It was anything but pretty but it was as Uwe Rosler himself put it a gritty and dogged performance.
But they were undone once again by an inability to defend set-pieces.
They had done all the hard work and a gutsy defensive display looked set to secure a huge 0-0 and confidence boosting draw at the league leaders.
Though it was a minute from time when Nsiala rose above a combination of Devante Cole and Nathan Pond to head Whalley's corner from the right over the head of Jordy Hiwula on the post.
Though it was a deserved goal for a team that had shown the most threat in the opposition third it poses questions once again about Fleetwood's defending on set-pieces.

I'm guessing Rosler wouldn't agree with this bit???

A very concise and well written piece by Ms Swarbrick. Obviously a passionate Fleetwood fan, but I think she's a bit wasted at the Blackpool Gazette.

Hiwula was not quite on the goal line otherwise he might well have got to it.
Reminds me of Ashton's positioning for that last minute goal scored against us by Jackson for Gillingham at Wembley.
It wasn't a corner, but if Ashton had been nearer the post he'd have stopped it.
Never forgiven Gillingham for that plus the attitude of their fans that day. Hope they go down this year.
About 7.40 mins in.

Watch Deano run off in to the west stand!! Also particularly satisfying to see Toto jump high above Pond with little resistance, especially since Pond had been wrestling Morris the whole game.
