Congratulations on your start to the season. Just to let you know we are desperate to play you, don't mind if it's home or away, and inflict the first defeat of the season on you. One thing though, if it's at the Church Stretton Meadow, or whatever you call your ground nowadays, we'll need at least 3000 tickets as our away following is still quite large .....don't ya just love those carrot crunching cider swiggers down the A49 Don't worry about not knowing the full the name of our ground, it will be a loooooooooooooooooooong time,if ever, before we meet in a league match How many levels below us are you, 4? 5?...see that you lost one of your pub league matches recently, which must have come as a shock. Oops sorry my mistake didn't realise that you have graduated above the pub leagues, what is it now? "The small towns in the South of England that most people couldn't point out on a map League" Final genuine question instead of banter. Are Hereford F.C the lowest ranked team left in the F.A Cup?

I would love to play Telford. We have not had a good local derby for years with something actually riding on the game . Telford away will do nicely .

Unless you get tele, a home tie is more favourable, because of the limited costs and sponsorship.

If we get a non-league club away then I think there is a good chance we'll be on the box. I know we're no box office but we're up near the top of the table and unbeaten. We're already getting a bit of press in the national papers and so it wouldn't surprise me if the Beeb consider us...
Hereford or Telford would be superb draws...

Hope we draw a League 1 team. Anything else with our current lofty position we will be seen as giant killing fodder.
We have had enough embarrassing matches against non league teams in the fairly recent past. Least then if we get knocked out to a League 1 team, everyone will soon get over it and we really genuinely this year enthuse about concentrating on the league.
Being knocked out by a non league team can lead to an ongoing hangover effecting subsequent matches for some time after.

It's cute that despite not playing them for many years with that highly unlikely to change, that we are still the focus of undivided attention from the carrot crunchers.

It's just that we narrowed down the teams that we were most likely to beat and of the 79 others you were top of the list

Bury away on a Saturday would be nice. I never like drawing teams from the same division Forest Green or Barnet will get me to new ground or just a home tie that we should win. If we can get through rounds 1 and 2 we have a squad that might cause an upset

We are probably witnessing at present the best chance for many seasons of Town having a real go at achieving promotion to the Championship. If will probably be many seasons before such a team if ever comes together again. All I hope in the cup is that Town are not distracted from what could be a memorable season and when they are eliminated from the cup they don't end up with hangover that damages the huge opportunity this season is presenting. The FA Cup yes can be a great money pot but promotion to the Championship brings a potential cup tie atmosphere to much of the matches.
