Regrettably, that was his 4th yellow card this evening.
One away from a ban.

Regrettably, that was his 4th yellow card this evening. One away from a ban. Got beaten at will tonight and the yellow was cheap after being skinned yet again. Redeemed himself with a superb tackle late on and played his part fully in some frantic team defending.

That's not to bad then. Junior deserves a break anyway.

Really wish hurst had signed a LB if only to see juniorinho in this team as a left winger. Maybe with beckles pushing in we may see Sadler go out to LB and junior moving forwards?

JB played ok, With Payne in front of him he didn't have a great deal of protection and probably looked worse for it. I think having rodman on the flank in front of you makes you look 20% a better player defensively because you don't need to step out and engage an attacker each time because rodman is invariably haring back. Whalley the same to an extent

I'd be pretty amazed if Sadler was moved to Left back. He's been excellent so far this season in the heart of the defence

Whatever happens Sadler should go nowhere near the left back position . We've seen what happens when he's played in that position and it's not good . No, he is doing a great job in his present position , let him stay there . Sorry lads but that's my opinion .

Maybe Bolton or Riley can play LB for one game?
I suspect that PH had hoped to bring in a LB as cover for Brown. The Number 3 shirt is still free.

Don't disagree with any of that apart from maybe great tackler, but he has to do more to stop crosses coming in from his flank or it will cost us.

Primarily a centre-half, Omar is comfortable playing in most positions in the back four and provides great flexibility in Hurst’s squad. If Brown gets another Yellow Hurst could play him as a left back

Occasionally JB does tend to wander & his positioning can be questioned as a result.
Other than that for me he has been consistently excellent & together with his relative longevity is fast approaching legendary status.

Further to the above a work colleague with a great musical knowledge can't believe we haven't got a song for Junior based on the Stranglers classic golden brown.
So here goes;
Junior Brown, Marcelo's son Down the left, all match he will run
He's great in the air With magnificent hair
He's Loved at the town Our Junior Brown.

Consistently excellent?, his passion and workrate yes, but he is not an excellent left back, at times this season he has been run ragged.

at our level brown is a decent left back as others have posted he does wander , some of the teams we face are big clubs with deep pockets , the better opponents will work out his shortcomings( no pun intended)as they have with Riley and Bolton

Consistently excellent?, his passion and workrate yes, but he is not an excellent left back, at times this season he has been run ragged. Excellent in the sense that he regularly contributes positively to the performance than anything negative. To be honest I can't believe there is still a debate as to whether he can play LB or LWB as to me he has answered that question several times over. Undoubtedly we do need cover (as with Rodnan's position) to provide decent competition. I have yet to come across a FB who doesn't 'get skinned' on occasion if they are up against a decent opponent and/or they are not being helped by a teammate. It is a hazard of the position to some extent (like wingers being reliant on service to be involved in a game). CB's by contrast are much more likely to receive cover as the deep lying midfielder is usually more central.

I'd say Junior is still learning the finer arts of that position; he's only been playing there, what, 18 months? Or am I misremembering? If I'm right then that isn't long in the big scheme of thibgs and I would expect him to carry on improving.

Brownie is like a fine wine. He get's better with age. And what a trier he is, even if things aren't going his way, he never gives up.
In my top three players this season, along with Abu and Mat.

Absolutely. I won’t have a word said against him. He is everything I want in a Shrewsbury player. Gives his all and is a trier. Chips in with a few good goals as well.

Brown always strikes me as being a player who has really appreciated being given a chance and has grabbed it with both hands. He is definitely a much better player now than when he arrived despite being in a position that he wasn't initially identified with. More than that he is clearly a good club man and popular with team mates and someone we as supporters can trust to always give of his best.

Watching how well he played on Tuesday got me thinking about another left back called Junior ...... "Leovegildo Lins da Gama Júnior (born 29 June 1954), known simply as Júnior or Léo Júnior, is a Brazilian former professional footballer who played as a left back or midfielder.[1] He was nicknamed "capacete"(Helmet) because of his afro hairstyle. He was named by Pelé as one of the top 125 greatest living footballers in March 2004.[2] Junior now works as a television pundit for Rede Globo." I agree with the above. He always gives his best, has plenty of skill and also the rare quality of being capable of a bit of magic. Definitely a favourite of mine. Mellon didn't always get his League 1 player signings wrong .....
