24% raised with 21 days to go. To my untrained eye that doesn't look good, but I don't know the 'ins and outs' of crowd funding. Are late surges common? What was expected after this length of time? Is it fair to say that the response from Town fans has been disappointing? I mean, you known, how is it going? What are the common trends in crowd funding? One of the Crowd Funding groups did some research recently that suggested the average target for campaigns was about £45k and roughly 45% of campaigns reached their target figure. Another common feature is that most money comes in during the first and last week of the campaign and there is often a lull in the middle. These studies though includes everything from business start ups to charity campaigns so the scope of the different campaigns is very different The safe standing campaign is a bit different to others though as while there is a technical deadline I don't think money disappears or stops in 21 days and there is every opportunity to continue the fundraising and find other sources of funding that aren't necessarily straight donations. So no need to be down hearted just yet Thank you Matt, this is what I was after. Even with a late surge, and as KL8 points out, it will be difficult to reach the target. That's an interesting figure regarding the average campaign target and shows how ambitious this project is. Looking at threads on here there's slight change in strategy, which is good, but I think the campaign needs to win the hearts and minds of the wider fan base. Upon reflection, it might have been better to start out by gauging the feelings on safe standing of the wider fan base first before launching the campaign.

Nevertheless, my hope is that the club will appreciate that raising 20k is a decent effort for STFC as a provincial football club, and then agree to stump up the rest of the accordingly. Well, you'd hope so....

Perhaps they'll sacrifice the contingency money in the event we need to replace the seats if we're 'nearly' there?

A couple of things would be really useful and help all those who are interested in being involved.
These are a:
FAQ: e.g. answering when the campaign will end, what happens if target is not reached, who is involved in the campaign, how to donate.
A list of who we should contact if we have questions. There seems to be several people involved / making suggestions. The thing is I do not know who is leading what / who are officially connected to the campaign or just passing on messages/ who is actually in contact with the club / Tifosy.
Details of the timeline of upcoming rewards especially those that are not directly connected from the club and may have a wider appeal
What would also be nice would be a comment from Tifosy on how the campaign is progressing / a bit of spin of who has donated rewards, who has bought packages, how many opportunities may be left etc. This in itself can be used as a way to maintain an ongoing profile for the campaign.
Please do not take offense in regards the above, I am aware that people are working hard behind the scenes (and on the match day). I am myself ready to do as much as I can (as an exile) where possible.

I'm just back from being away I'm not or never would try and belittle the hard working individuals working for a cause they believe in But I still struggle to understand what the whole concept will bring The only place you could put safe standing is in the south stand and for me the view is great for 45 mins You couldn't squeeze it into blocks 15_16_17_18_19 Because if people were standing up you they wouldnt see Posh side out of the question. Also if the allocated 500 safe standing places took off How could anyone ever decide who could stand there I wish the fund raisers all the best will in the world. If I've affended anyone that was never or will be my intention. If the fans and the club can make safe standing work then good luck to them I wish them all the best.

The current figure itself is somewhat disappointing relative to the overall target. Then again, it must be contextualised against the STFC fanbase as a whole. We have an aging fanbase in the main, many of whom will lack the fiscal resources to make a donation - or will be indifferent/opposed to "safe standing" as a concept. Take a look at Oxford on Saturday for further evidence of this - we will take approximately 650 there, and at least 500 will remain seated in silence for the duration of the fixture. I'd be somewhat surprised if we came anywhere near the 75k target when all is said and done - we'd need to raise more than £2,500 per day in order to achieve this. Nevertheless, my hope is that the club will appreciate that raising 20k is a decent effort for STFC as a provincial football club, and then agree to stump up the rest of the accordingly. Considering we spunked 100k on Nathan Elder, 55k for something which will benefit generations of Town fans is hardly a lot to ask from the regime. They can think of it as reparations for ruining our match-day experience by selling Gay Meadow a decade ago. The dream has gone, but the baby is real!I found on Saturday it was the older fans who seemed more willing to donate. There can be no doubt the older fans have good memories of standing on the terracing following the Town and I think many support this campaign even if their choice is more likely to sit now.

Should we as fans take a lead on this and badger some local businesses to contribute? Good idea. Ask local business Shrewsbury Town FC Great backing from a local business!

When this happens it will be MASSIVE for our football club. Not just British, but cameras from all around the world. I would have thought it would be a great opportunity for some company to sponsor it. For a few thousand pounds, they would be reaching hundreds of thousands, probably millions of people all around the world seeing their product advertised.

Decent effort by the club. Good to see.
This also now means that the campaign cannot fail. There is no way that the club will allow the target to remain unreached after committing in this way.
Onwards and upwards.

We need to press home our advantage now. How about we all dress up as nurses for the next home game? That should get us some good publicity.

Great idea but will I be allowed to wear my bra over the top of my uniform?'MS Indalo' would certainly not tolerate a bunch of sweaty stewards fumbling inside her top infront of male supporters and children!

What about the playing/coaching staff? Are they included in the club donation? They're the ones who talk about getting a better buzz when there's an atmosphere?
