From what I've seen he's been solid in a weak midfield, nothing more. For a player in his 30s he makes some stupid rash challenges. He's one of a number of players this season where I feel the move has suited him (and us?) in the short term as he's got fit and played games, but you just don't get the sense there's any commitment or connection with the club. Last season JLAA, Grant and Mangan were all on shorter term deals than him but threw themselves into being part of the club. I don't get that with Black and given his comments about deserving a better contract and missing his family then I think he'll go. And unless we have a really poor side next year he shouldn't be missed. Just hope we don't pay him off.

In my opinion i thought that black had a good game up until he got sent off.

Yesterday aside Black has picked up 2 yellows from him last 15 matches. Given his role in the side and the aggression he displays this is pretty admirable.
I initially thought that Black may have picked up the red on purpose yesterday to enable him to have an early start to his summer hols but given that the Swindon game could have been vital I doubt this to be the case. Don't think you can question his commitment on the field at least.
A quality player who may give us even more once he has a proper pre-season under his belt. For me, one of those proper 'League One' players that Mellon was referring to.
Would be hopeful that our summer recruiting would yield a better set piece taker than Black. Certainly not the strongest aspect of his game.

Reading around a bit, I notice his contract includes an option of a third year so I very much doubt he's going to be going anywhere this summer

I like Black.
A Scot with fire in his belly is a great asset to a team.
A good pre-season and I believe we will see the best of him next season

Black is needed because we can't be clear that Weso will return to his former stature as a player, even without further injuries.
Potentially Ogogo and Weso would be a genuine League One central midfield pairing.

I like Black. A Scot with fire in his belly is a great asset to a team. A good pre-season and I believe we will see the best of him next season I've not been as edgy every game about the possibility of a player being sent off since we had Steve Pittman on the books. Especially once Black's been given a yellow card.

Black is a decent player at this level - was clearly wound up yesterday, there were quite a few unpleasant words throw at him by their players throughout.

I like him in the team. He is industrious and adds bite in the midfield. There is nothing wrong with a player putting in the odd 'reducer' tackle here and there, but not every 20 minutes!

Sorry but I just don't buy this missing the family crap. Move them with you - not exactly on crap money. Hate his snivelling and digging at team mates more than anything. Having said that presumably Managers choice for set pieces ....... and if he's the best ........ Add in his propensity to leave you with 10 men. Get shut.

Sorry, disagree with this, very harsh! Yes he picks up cards but not excessive if you look at stats. Would prefer to see his passion and fight than some of the heads down, lackluster performances we have seen. Thought he played well today, didn't you? So 13 yellow cards and 2 red cards in 36 appearances isn't excessive in your eyes? Please see post by markglasgow above, I'd take that from the last 15 games for a player in that role!

Think he would have been a good player 20 years ago when kicking ankles and sliding through people was allowed. Not now though
Don't like the type of players like him who are happy to put the sneaky kicks and stamps in but moan like babies if they get caught doing it
Definitely one to shift on in the summer along with Wellens. Start with both of them in the team next season and were in massive trouble
