I am sure we are all behind MM for the last week of the season but there have been rumours that he wants to return to the North West where his family still live and may even have lined up another job. There is a vacancy coming up on the Burnley backroom staff where he could reunite with Matt Williams or maybe hes been lined up as the new Blackpool manager. Anybody else got any knowledge of vacancies coming up which may tempt him.

No but in an interview about this season's form, he talks about putting it right next time. So who knows!?

I would say with a high degree of confidence that hes currently not planning on going anywhere and firmly focused on next season.
That said lose the next two and the situation might be out of his control.

I highly doubt that he would return to Blackpool given the ongoing problems they have.
I doubt also that Burnley would appeal to MM - why swap managing a team to go into a support role at a club he doesn't know?
Tranmere maybe a bit more realistic if MM decides to step off the STFC bandwagon.

He was a youth team coach at Burnley when he was appointed manager at Fleetwood. I hope there is nothing to the rumours and he stays at GM.

Can't see this happening at all. It would be as if he's hoisted up the white flag and given up on his managerial career. Plus I really do believe that Mellon is sold on us, I think he's bought into who and want we are as a club. It goes without saying that I want him to succeed because he is Town manager but it goes a little beyond that with Mellon, you also want us to succeed because you genuinely believe he is happy here, wants to be here and is proud to be manager of Town. So for that reason I'd be very surprised if he wanted to move on. We'll see I guess...

Hope this isn't true as I can't see RW choosing a better manager to take us forward..
However I did hear this rumour last Sunday from a 'club sponsor' that 'a decision on Micky's future had already been taken'
No Idea what this means if anything

I sincerely hope that the story isn't true but I wouldn't bet against it having some credence.
MM has lived away from his family for the majority of the week during the two years he's been with us. Obviously when MW left he also lost his travelling companion and a personal friend who certainly engineered his appointment at Shrewsbury.
Working away from home can put one heck of a strain on a relationship,as I know to my personal cost. Some times you have to stop and evaluate whats more important, the answer should always be your family.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if he left and a coaching role at Burnley, if they get promoted. Plus he would probably earn more money as well.

Not often and hopefully not true.

My guess is that the rumour is based on MM arranging alternative employment should things go badly in the next two games. Can't blame him because anything is still very much possible including relegation which could spell the end for Mr Mellon.

Hope he stays but, like the vast majority of fans, I would be thrilled to see Jacko take the helm again...

ah the conspiracy theories and rumours don't you just love them? ...I will be on concentrating on supporting the team so we get enough points in the remaining games to stay up, as will Micky and the players I am sure

I'll bet Mickey is suffering a whole range of emotions at the moment. The pressures of football management are immense. Hopefully he'll be put out of his misery tomorrow when we are safe.

You're probably right. I can just imagine him nibbling on a bit of lettuce after the game.

It's rare, I think Steve Cotterill once resigned as Stoke manager to become Howard Wilkinson's number 2 at Sunderland but that's the only one I can think of at the moment.

Micky Mellon has a new career on Have I Got News for You. Just watched tonight's programme and his name appears on the newspaper cuttings in background of the round about Obama!
