Hats off to the SP for promoting this crucial game.
As for the club itself, what, if anything are they doing to really promote this game?
It's our last home game of the season, there is so much riding on the game, the new CEO talks about increasing the fanbase to 6,000. Well, don't just talk about it, be proactive, Saturday is a great opportunity to get as many supporters as possible to come down to the GM.
Should this not be the priority of the CEO this week, otherwise what's the point in having one and what's he getting paid to do?

Now less than 48 hours to go before kick off and still there is no rallying call on the official website Very poor....

Seeing as we have a Chief Exec; commercial manager; ticket office manager and a Community Team you do kind of wonder what they all actually do? Peterborough game, even without the relegation issue, should be a time to galvanise the fans, thank them for the past season and start selling tickets, merchandise and interest in next season Instead we seem to be relying on the fans to promote the game. What next asking us to drive the team bus? On a related matter yet another season ticket window has gone by without the club either emailing me or writing to me encouraging me to renew my season ticket. I'm not asking for a personal call from Roland, but some effort going into retaining existing fans might be an idea

What next asking us to drive the team bus? Perhaps getting supporters to play is the answer - we might be able to unearth a decent centre half or striker.

Town always seem to be looking for ticket office staff. Is it written into players contracts that they are employed to play football or could club use them in some other capacity if they are not earning their money on the pitch. Players like Tootle, Vernon and Grandin seem to be on a good thing. Could they not be used in the ticket office or promoting the last home game in someway. I remember going to the circus and giving my ticket to the girl at the door. The same girl was selling ice cream at the interval and on the trapeze in the second half. MD did a good job I seem to remember for the Chelsea game both in the ticket office and handing out cups of tea.

Surely his job to promote STFC in the media, whether it be newspapers and radio, social media or even the club website ....What else does he do? Maybe I'm forgetting the programme but that must have gone to the publishers last week and no more home games till August

The programme went to the Publishers today I believe.
I have sent him a press release to go on the website about what the fans are promoting for the last game of the season, but having been down there today to pick up some balloons (we had left a load there from the last B and A day), i can see how hard it is for just him and one other guy to keep on top of things. While I was there, he was sorting the programme, writing stuff for the website, then had a hour of media interviews to deal with for the pre match, then some youtube stuff, and also some super secret stuff that's happening Saturday and in the next few weeks which i was impressed with!
Funny as we were taking about if the town could do things pre match like the walsall media team did (player interviews on the big screen and other pre match entertainment) and Whits in responce set out out starkly that the media team at Walsall is 10.... ours is two and they have more of a remit that Walsall's 10 people if anything.
If anyone could do with another pair of hand to help him out its Whits and the media team.

That sounds like utter, utter, BS. I'm not shooting the messenger by the way, just responding to the comment. And I have yet to hear of one season ticket holder who has raised objections. Certainly not on here. So it does indeed seem a lame excuse. Indeed, though there's always 'one'. However, that shouldn't stop the Club from discounting the f00k out of this game.

I recall Shropshire Star posters at the Old Gay Meadow.
Tolley 'we need you' and all on them.

Over 5,000 tickets sold so far according to the club.... So in the end a crowd of just over 6000 with some 500 visitors making up the numbers. This was to me a disappointing turn out for our last home game of the season, especially so given the importance of the fixture. I hope the CEO takes note. The club can do more to get more bums on seats at the GM.
