Love them or hate them it's a fact of life that they will be on sale for this match whatever.Just a terrible shame that the proceeds will be going into the pockets of a bunch of Cockney spivs instead of the Club's bank account.I well remember being pestered by them at the Chelsea match and one of them was so persistent that I had to give him some free travel advice in the end.Can anything be done to exclude them from Club land and are they committing any criminal offence does anyone know?

You gotta remember though that there are one or two Manchester fans on here who might not be able wait to snag one. Hence the odd terse response... seems the most childish and bitter thread ever this, if someone wants a scarf then they will buy one, there no needs to ridicule them as if its a crime personally i don't bother with scarves maybe when town win the cup and draw your local german side in the europa league we can dig this thread up and warn you off thinking about buying one ;-) the only real issue here is that town should be selling them and cashing in, i 'd probably buy one as a memento if it was official merchandise All very much tongue in the cheek our kid. D unno take it to heart...

If a friendly fine.
Not games that aren't.
Only other time is if fans have friendship, for example St Pauli and Celtic.

if someone is spotted wearing a half and half scarf, please advise them at half time everyone switches to the away end and will need to move. Anyone else old enough to remember the time when fans could and did switch ends to get the best view of their side attacking?? Absolutely. As a kid we always used to congregate behind the tech end goal; they attacked that end in the first half almost every match... then at half time there would be an exodus to the station end. Fans weren't even segregated in the lower leagues; we used to love chatting with away supporters, although in those days a couple of hundred away fans would be a big following.

You could always ask the vendor to cut off the half you don't want and get it half price.

Great to see a regular off here sporting one of these last night. I'm sure he'll own up.

I would have one - STFC and BWFC - as discussed with a gentleman in the ticket queue last week.
Why not, Bolton is my long standing team but as previously mentioned now watch Town as I wanted my kids to support a local team.

Amazed to see so many of them as I didn't actually see anyone buy one and nobody seems to want to own up!

But that's different and makes sense if you genuinely support both. I just don't understand folks buying them just for the sake of it.

The only positive I can see about buying a half and half scarf is that if we'd of won it may have become a bit of a collectors item in 50 years time. But we didn't, so they're actually just a bit sh*t.

Sanctimonious crap... I have a few half and halves,
Town vs Gas (v dodgy!)
Utd vs Roma Champions Lg
Oakland Raiders vs Miami Dolphins
New England Patriots vs St Luis Rams
And a few others, they don't really get worn, more a keepsake of an event....

I had to have a pop at the half and half sellers on the clubs property bang outside the West Stand after the game. I basically said "How much money are you giving our club for selling them? You doing realise you are trespassing within the perimeter fence? They just laughed at me so I told the stewards and the stewards started shifting them out beyond the perimeter fence lol. I then laughed at them and basically said f*** off and good night lol.

Nor do I imagine does the tax man and you often wonder what those guys are selling when there isn't a big match on and what else the money they make funds There are strict rules about retailers selling stuff on the pavements yet those kind of sales seem to be allowed any time we get a big match.

They are there to catch the " occcassional" fan. Go to any game in the Prem and there they are, flogging scarf's, hats etc to those who want them. Usually the fans who go to most matches have the nous to pop into their club shop and buy. Our own shop has them, but had to bring the price down to somewhere near the level they were sold by the street sellers. I would think the quality of those in the club shop is better than those sold street wise.
Obviously they must have a street vendors licence, otherwise they would be moved on. There always has been a market for cheap football tat that twinkles like a diamond to those who may not be match savvy. I would always buy from the club shop, quality is assured, but if it falls apart in the wash you can take it back. With street vendors you have no chance. These guys probably make their money outside match days selling tat at local flea markets around the country. Truth be told, we all like a bargain, we have all bought stuff which is absolute tat, and we never learn . Maybe it's an English thing, like rummage sales and Sunday markets or church fetes.

F.cking hell, I've heard evertyhing now . " I always buy from the club shop ........." When did you last buy anything from the club shop ? I did hear in your defence that you were going to buy a fat t**t Gerrard shirt , as it would fit you nicely but when he buggered off that was it . Never mind , I 'm sure a twinkling diamond bargain will be on your back before long , or around your scrawny neck , picked up no doubt from a rummage sale or church fete . You make me laugh you do , yet another nonsense post . I look forward to your next offering , I'm sure it will be up to your usual standard .

I would never buy one at a Shrewsbury game. I regard a scarf as a way of showing support for your team, so why wear something of which half is dedicated to the team you want to lose?
The only time I would consider it would be if I was a neutral at a big game - World Cup Final or something - and I wanted a souvenir.

From what I remember our shop had its fair share of tat in it. Maybe different now but I doubt it, probably why I haven't been in there for 6+ years.
