Well... grateful for a point and a clean sheet. Sounds like Ogogo missed a good chance to win it for us... and we really did need a win with Fleetwood having those two games in hand.
But the draw sounded a fair result.

A clean sheet and a point away would for the most part be a decent days work but considering the circumstances I suspect even though they were at home, it's Fleetwood who will be happier of the two. We had a chance to open a 4 point gap on them today but failed to take it. Just keeps us very much in among it at the bottom. These three away games at Fleetwood, Blackpool and Colchester really do provide us with a chance to put a bit of space between us and the sides below us. First of the three down and that chance hasn't been taken (as yet).

A good away point, which could be the difference that keeps us up, a defeat had to be avoided. Fleet woods 2 games in hand are difficul, home to Gillingham and Walsall away!

I don't feel we can be too hard on the teams, it's difficult to play in such strong, gusty winds.
Best part of the day for me was the supporters' bar.

We were still hitting far to many "Holywood" cross field balls. The ones on the wind sailed over the touchline whereas the ones into the wind fell short of their target. When we played shorter, along the ground, we opened them up. I can't see the logic of using Mangan as a glorified left winger. Get him in the box.

I thought it was a decent performance from Town today but agree you want Mangan on the end of crosses, not putting them in. He's our one real 'fox in the box' whereas Whalley is a natural wideman so that tactical decision was slightly odd.

Solid battling performance today. Much to admire over the 90 minutes. NKP, Grandison and Smith wouldn't have played as a back three many times previously so the clean sheet is even more impressive.
Mangan caused many problems out wide. Playing with A-A as the focal point up top allowed us to knock it long when we had to.
Three decent performances in a row now. Taken one point when we could easily have snatched six over the last two league games.
We're far from doomed.

Town were the slightly better of the two sides in difficult conditions and a heavy pitch, had some great chances but couldn't convert them yet again, IF we can win at Blackpool then today's game will have been a good point earned, but I can't help but feel we missed the 'easier' game out of the two to win today.
Enjoyed the day out though, friendly home fans and friendly staff at a great little ground, the bar was fantastic and a restaurant next door that sells meals at affordable prices... that'll never catch on will it RW?

Agree with how it worked up top having Whalley and mangan either side of JLAA. unlucky not to win but better performance with plenty of movement and attacking action. Agree with other posters about supporters bar. Oh wish we had one....

From what I've seen and read we appear to be finding form performance wise. Keep that up and results will come. It will be tight though.
My predicted 15th place finish might still be on mind.

The bar will be used only around 25 times a season for footy purposes but looks an ideal set up for private functions throughout the year. Also dropped into the Strawberry Gardens pub about 10 mins from the ground, where 'Supersonic Syd Little was directing operations.

One advantage for Fleetwood is their ground and therefore their supporters bar room is within a residential area which allows it to be used for non-football events. I noticed outside posters for weekly activities. I guess that's part of the problem for our ground is could a room / bar be utilised fully away from match days.

But surely it's all there. We have a building with numerous rooms , with bars, that should be open for use 7 days a week , for whatever functions or uses the public need. The place is not too far " out of town" , and as an added plus, it's got a huge car park. Forgive me if I' m wrong, but is the club opening these facilities for Sunday lunches, the occasional sponsored event and festive celebrations ONLY?
A large building not fully utilised, something is drastically wrong somewhere. And there was me, thinking that we had personnel at the club whose job it is to entice outside organisations to use these facilities 7 days a week.
Corporate usage is all well and good, but we should be lowering our sights a little and concentrating maybe on " public" usage. Maybe we already do, but our price structure is too high for some , be interested to know.

Over the next 5 to 10 years around 500 homes and a new business park will get built on Oteley Road, so lots of potential new customers for the club. Hopefully detailed discussions with the developers are happening with the club

Space is i guess another problem.

Just wonder if these areas are used to their maximum potential?
The old player's bar at the GM was tiny and admittance was admittedly restricted but it was always busy post match and catered for us plebs who weren't invited to the lounge upstairs.
Wonder if there was scope for something similar at the new GM. Reduce numbers by either admitting Home fans or ST holders only or charging a small entry fee.
I would direct this question to our head if hospitality but we don't seem to be on the best of terms at the moment...
