People slating bbc should know that bbc only have the 1st and 3rd pick . I can understand them choosing chelsea v Man City so that gave BT the town game as the 2nd pick Yes. BBC had 3rd pick, but only for the Friday evening slot, which we had no chance of being allocated as United play in Europe on Thursday. For us to have been on BBC we would have had to have been their 1st pick for Sunday. We weren't. So we were inevitably destined for BT Sports 2 once BBC had decided that Chelsea v Man City was their main match.

If by any chance during the game United have a dodgy spell can we give them a round of 'are you Walsall in disguise' and a cheeky ' your getting sacked in the morning' for LVG.
That last chant could relate to Mellon if things go bad and the cup honeymoon dream ends in bt sports high definition.

When you say " if things go bad " I take it you are referring to the Fleetwood and Blackpool games ? If we lose those two we are in the sticky brown stuff . You never know, depending on the side Man United put out , and whatever side it is they will be hard to beat obviously , we could be facing League 2 football next season with a very large budget behind us ! This will be for the benefit of the next Manager because I really cannot see Mellon in charge next season . Whoever comes in I just hope RW allows him to spend some cash on decent players with a potential sell on value . He will need a fair whack cos our present lot are worth f.ck all.

Can't help but think of Gary Neville at Valencia.... poor league form but got the team to the semis of the Copa del Rey, only to lose 7-0 in the first leg at Barca.

I am first to slate the BBC and the reason why is because they made such a big deal with their 'anything can happen' third round coverage that the 'romance of the cup' seemed alive and well. It almost seemed like a bit of a 'campaign' by them to prioritise the cup over the Premiership.
Now they don't seem bothered, this was an opportunity to keep that 'campaign' going but instead they chose the all premiership game (snore). Sure, the viewing figures might go up for those two clubs, but with an equally strong 'campaign' for plucky little Shrewsbury, conquerors of mighty Everton, the Rooney connection, possibly Van Gaals last game, Mourinho looming, perhaps even the revenge of Moyes (!!!), then I am sure our game would've generated plenty of interest.
But no, the beeb have shown where their loyalties lie and unfortunately it's not with the FA cup that they wanted us to believe!

BBC clearly aren't after the romance but want the big teams. I also wander if the broadcasters think 'oh it's ok, stick shrewsbury on the monday night as their 'small' band of fans from Shrewsbury or Shropshire can still make it' not realising a number of fans travel from around the country to home games and are now at a disadvantage. Cheers!

Friday was never going to happen as Man Utd have a Europa League game on Thursday evening and another one the following Thuirsday too. Even though Friday was available none of the ties are being played then.
