Bugger. BBC would have been so much better for getting the people of Shrewsbury interested in the club even if they couldn't go. On the plus side we'll be in the quarter final draw!

On the plus side we'll be in the quarter final draw! i remember us being in the semi final draw shrewsbury or wolves v arsenal 1979 after deserving to win at wolves they pretty much hammered us here in the replay :-( quite relieved that it wasn't 12:45 on sat or i'd have probably missed it should be quite a buzz by monday afternoon after all the other action has taken place was hoping for 17:30 on saturday in hope man u would still be tired after the thursday game with uniteds shaky form this season i'd say there hasn't been a better time in the last 30 years to play them maybe we could repeat bournemouth 84 2-0 win or more recently MKDs 4-0 ;-) a draw would still be fantastic and keep the dream going

I guess they had trouble finding a Friday night game. 4 on Sat, 3 on Sun and us on Monday.

Will this help demand for tickets be lower?
Certainly be tougher for exiles, needing time off. Harder for children to go with school next day etc?

Half term is week before my wife is back teaching making it a bit tricky for me to go as collect my daughter from nursery. Guess I'll need to bring her with me for a few days in shrewsbury staying at grandparents!

Well that's certainly curtailed my plans of flying back for it - I so nearly booked flights thinking it would be on the Sunday, glad I didn't. Now I just have to work out how/where to watch it at 2.45pm on a Monday afternoon

Kudos to those predicting Monday night. I Never thought they'd do this, it's a terrible time to play what should of been a great occasion. Looks like the 'romance of the cup' only applies to the third round at the BBC and to be honest it's taken some of the edge off the game for me.
Hopefully we will win and somebody will realise there's a lower league team in the sixth round worthy of some attention.

What happens to the Coventry fixture. If we'd played on Saturday that might have been moved to Tuesday, but Monday puts paid to Saturday and Tuesday.

how soon we forget that the same tv channel chose us v grimsby from all the ties in the 2nd round
and what a good story it will be for them to show the same team again who have gone from the big side in that game to the minnows in this one
some people you just cannot please
stop being biased, there is probably lot more nationwide interest in chelsea v man city than watching man united v an also ran remember how many of you moaned about man u always being on prime time
do you also forget last round man u played friday night and the round before that, the dreaded saturday evening game that most fans miss
what is wrong with monday night ?
in my opinion nothing spoils a game more than kicking off lunchtime and we've avoided that
as i mentioned, the town will be buzzing all weekend and by monday you'll all be chomping at the bit for the clock to tick on
i've waited since 1979 for for another big cup tie when i went to the city game it was my first real season as a fan and i thought these games come along every season
they don't
make the most of it

i've waited since 1979 for another big cup tie Leicester v Shrewsbury 1982? Ipswich (twice). Arsenal (twice). Everton (3 times). Liverpool. Chelsea (twice). seems like you must have missed a few then!

People slating bbc should know that bbc only have the 1st and 3rd pick . I can understand them choosing chelsea v Man City so that gave BT the town game as the 2nd pick
