Good day to all, my name is Nick and for my sins I am a Coventry fan as mentioned in the title, I also run my own all club forum on which I do a preview of all Coventry's games and invite members of the opposition to contribute. Either one of you can do me the preview I just need a couple of paragraphs reviewing the season so far, a guess what the line up will be and a score prediction. or I can take replies to this thread acknowledging all contributors and of course this forum.
Thanks in advance

OK, I'll go with it, even though I'm pushed for time today!
There was some confidence about our return to League 1 after such a strong promotion winning season. Losing two of our best players (Woods and Goldson) to the Championship in the August sales rush, combined with the loss of Wesolowski to a similar season-ending injury as soon as he returned from the last one, began to undermine this. Four consecutive home defeats, after a near unbeatable home record last season, made us all jittery and evoked chilling memories of our 2013/14 relegation season.
And yet ... we finally won at home last Saturday and, until Rochdale on Tuesday night, we were unbeaten away. By all accounts we shouldn't have lost there either but going 3 down in the first 15 minutes was too much for us in the end. We have some exciting young attacking talents in Jordan Clark, Larnell Cole and Sullay Kaikai and there's real optimism that we might have the quality to trouble any team in this league. The experience of Liam Lawrence and Ian Black (when he finally gets to play) should help bring them along.
Defensively, we should be fine too. we still have Knight-Percival, Grandison (ex-Cov of course) and Ellis, plus a very fine keeper in Leutwiler. Trouble is, we don't seem settled with our formation. Should it be last season's successful 3-5-2, 4-4-1-1 or back to 4-4-2? Fans aren't yet convinced by our new full backs, Tootle and Sadler, and particularly their ability to play as wing backs in the 3-5-2 that most of us (I think) prefer.
And then there's the goal scoring issue. I didn't think we scored as many as we should have last season and we struggled noticeably to score and beat the best teams. This season it seems no better, but the opponents' defences are. Akpa Akpro is a favourite but his finishing is more miss than hit, Collins and Barnett don't seem to link with the rest of the team too well and McAlinden has been anonymous. We need goals from anywhere in the team because we don't look likely to have a regular scoring striker.
Team tomorrow? I'd guess Halstead (Leutwiler if recovered from injury) - Tootle, Ellis, Knight-Percival, Sadler - Lawrence (if recovered from illness), Ogogo, Clark, Kaikai - Cole - Akpa Akpro.
I never predict the score!
