Wow, from Stones to Hector. Not much of a gap in ability there.

You could see there was a raw talent in Hector but honestly I saw him put in one of the worst performances I've ever seen for Shrewsbury... And that was in a reserve game! Great effort by him to work hard and reach his potential

Can't believe this! Watched him in some championship games, didn't really convince me. Despite the hype. Would rate Goldson as highly as hector yet he goes for £4mill?! Someone correct me if they feel I'm wearing blue and Amber specs ...

I thought he looked a really talented player but this is still a surprise, if only to see a top 4 club dipping into the Championship for a player who's been around for a while.
Reading sent him to us to make his mistakes and learn a bit, just as with Sigurdsson. That's the deal with loanees sent from above.
Good luck to him.

Someone correct me if they feel I'm wearing blue and Amber specs ... You're probably wearing b&a specs. Hector might not have convinced you but he was playing two divisions higher and he's done enough to convince Mourinho and his scouts who, with respect, are better judges than you and me. Goldson could yet prove himself as good or better - and I hope he does - but he's a good way to go to do that.

His first few games here he looked a really good player.
He did always look a good prospect but was prone to the odd mistake (like Goldson too).
Certainly couldn't see this happening.

Remember him having a great game against Walsall, and their fans said he was an absolute wall. He had all the ingredients, just lacked a bit of experience and composure but learned from his time with us, was great for Cheltenham and had a fine season for Reading last year, including several good performances against big sides like Arsenal in the FA Cup.
Thought Connor was a similar type of player, but as he was our player we were happy to forgive his mistakes. Also, Turner (I felt) managed him well - he gave him a relatively low number of appearances over a long space of time, with plenty of those as a sub or at RB, where his inexperience was less in the spotlight, and let him gradually develop and get used to first team football, although I did feel he was slightly too cautious in using him towards the end of his time as manager.
Anyway. Well done to Hector, evidently learnt from his mistakes and a vastly improved player.

Hector isn't fit to lace Goldsons boots, Reading get £4 million and we get £600k . Go figure !

Sky Sports News said earlier that he'd also been loaned straight back to Reading for rest of the season!

50+ Championship appearances is the difference. Some Reading fans I know think they should have got more for him - sounds like a lot of cash to me!
