I agree with others that MD was our worst performer against Chelsea, but overall his performances last season weren't too bad from a guy in his 1st season of League football. But clearly MM must feel that there is little likelihood of that much improvement.
By the way, I've remembered another of his mistakes to add to Tranmere A and Plymouth H..the needless handball that led to a penalty against Portsmouth H.

I think it is just gossip but based on a general negative vibe in the stands at the moment. At 29 Martin Woods has come to us as a player who has played predominantly as a Championship player - he cannot even get on the bench - looks odd.

Looks as if M Woods has not been able to settle so they will probably mutually agree to cancel his contract. I reckon Demetriou will sign for Cambridge before transfer period closes. Pity, what I've seen of Sadler and his inconsistent form isn't filling me with confidence, and he is supposed to be a more experienced player.

Looked decent enough.
We need to replace him though, we are lacking someone like Bobby Grant.

You have to wonder whether some of this behind-the-scenes uncertainty has affected our form.
Hopefully things will settle down once the window closes and MM can concentrate on finding our best XI and the formation that best suits them.

Jettison Grant; sign Martin Woods... not the best bit of summer business!

Personally I'm glad. Looked neat and tidy, but then so do all our centre midfielders.
Need something a bit different.

Good luck to him - I can't imagine how hard moving around the country must be on a family on a regular basis like footballers have to do - it's a glamorous career in many ways but other things are important too.
I tend to agree with Nick on the views of him as a player - solid enough but didn't offer us much different from what I saw (all be it only a few games).

We had it in abundance last year. I have never seen it so high at Shrewsbury.

We had it in abundance last year. I have never seen it so high at Shrewsbury. We did have it last year but there's been plenty of other teams who had plenty of spirit, the promotion winning side under GT had it, GP teams had it, and I'm sure there has been plenty throughout our history. As for Martin Woods, the limited amount I saw of him I can't say I saw anything that made me disapointed when I was told the news he was leaving. But thats also impacted by the amount of midfielders we have

Funny when he signed it was because he wanted to be closer to his family in England............what a load of ballcocks...............the reason why any player signs is the lucre nothing more, nothing less. So hopefully with him gone, Harry Lewis moving to Southampton, Woody possibly moving........ then that should bring in some more dough.

Most memorable moment of his Shrewsbury career was against Market Drayton, when he managed to kick the flag, not the ball, when taking a corner. He saw the funny side and was having a good laugh about it. Seem to go of the boil quite quickly, but may have been personal problems effecting his game.

The move back to Ross County seems strange. To sign a two year contract, move from Scotland and then three months later have your contract torn up and move back again doesnt make sense. Perhaps with the impending return of Wesolowski and with Ogogo, Laurence, RW, Brown, Clarke, AA he has been told that he is/was surplus to requirements. That seems quite likely doesnt it?
So hearing that Ross County step in and offer him a two year deal which he happily snaps up.

This should free up a decent wage - let's spend it on an attacking midfielder with some skill and pace.
