750K plus extras isn't that bad.

£750k is a disappointing figure imo especially with the money Brentford have kicking around currently......I think Woods' base fee should have eclipsed Harts total fee really.
I'm sure ere are a load of add-ons on this deal too as it was said 20% sell on for Conner Goldson so it is a safe bet on something similar for Woodsy

If the up front fee is 750K then I would expect there to be a fair packet of add ons. Also if Brentford are signing Woodsy then we can be assured that his prozone stats are proper bueno

Any chance of a loan back?

Why get rid of both star players this late, poor recruitment in summer no time to get replacements.......Oh at least we shouldn't be facing ticket prices increasing next season when we are back down.

Decent fee, hope we have a good sell on clause. With Ginnelly and Lewis we must have banked closer to £2m than £1m this last month. Keeps the club running, just hope we can pull a rabbit out of the hat today.

IMO we need a striker and a winger today.
If no one comes in I won't be that happy to be honest.

Because the only way we'd have sold them early to give MM a stable budget in June would be by offering them both even cheaper which everyone would have moaned at.

Just out of interest does the loan period close and if so when does it open? Not that I'm a pessimist you understand!

I do understand your point but rather half the fees and decent recruitment, the pile of s**te we've brought in would just hold there own in league 2.

I can see MM paying a decent fee for a centre mid and a striker sometime today if woods deal is done early enough. Think we don't need a CM to be honest.
We need a Lionel Ainsworth style player I think.

We need pace, creativity and the ability to deliver a quality final ball.

Not sure why we need to sign a winger when the one we've got warms the bench..unless of course it's another Vincent scenario and MM has gone off him within a couple of months. For the life of me, I can't see why he was offered a 2 year deal when Brown, Clark, McKnight, JLAA and Grandison only got one.
Leutwiler now seems the only sellable asset we have left other than perhaps the teenage goalkeepers.

Think remainder of the day could be very important to the remainder of this season, and possibly next few years for the club Sales of Goldson and Woods were to be expected but without some quality replacements brought in it's going to be one of those "here we go again" moments. Great the sales put the club in a healthy fanatical position but getting the right replacements in to give us a fighting chance in League One is really vital. Going to be an interesting day

We need pace, creativity and the ability to deliver a quality final ball. Missed him. He's gone on loan to Burton and scored against us on Saturday. Though I accept he had a pretty indifferent game otherwise.

It does feel like the club is losing some of it's identity again letting all these home grown players leave.
At the minute I feel like I did the day Paul Evans left!

I can predict the statement from MM, now Ryan has gone we felt it was right for both parties,we haven't brought anyone in as DNA wasn't right and we didn't feel anyone would improve the group but we may look a loans ie some untried youth from somewhere. Hope I'm wrong

750k is a great deal for a player in the last year of his contract...

Suppose it's possible he's having a medical before a fee is agreed given its deadline today and then at least there's plenty of time for it to be a thorough medical rather than rushed.
Clutching at straws though!
Thought he'd go somewhere higher tho!

Well we'd better start growing some more. Tootle, Sadler, Lawrence, Whalley, Brown, Caton, Vernon, Ogogo, Wesolowski, Demetriou, Halstead, Clark, Collins, Barnett, JLAA, NKP, Ellis and Grandison are unlikely to make us much, if anything.

750k is a great deal for a player in the last year of his contract... If he were to leave at the end of his contract I still think we would get a decent fee with a sell on clause through tribunal and could possibly have survived in the league. If he were to go in January I think we would get a similar fee to him going now and could have spent a few months planning to reinvest the money. We aren't light in that area of the team but with Woods playing we have a much better chance of survival. Poor timing if it all goes through.
