Bit unsure where we stand with AA and Grandison but I assume they aren't registered? Even so I want to be an optimist and include them in selection.
So what is everyone's starting 11?
For me:
GK -Leutwiler LWB - Sadler CB - Goldson CB - Ellis CB - Grandison RWB - Ogogo CM - R. Woods CM - Lawrence CM - M. Woods ST - Barnett ST - McAlinden

We've played 442 pretty much all pre-season. I'm going to be very surprised if we start with 352.

Same team that started at Tranmere, assuming JG is signed up. If not, then Ellis comes in.

The team which played v tranmere Having played 442 nearly every minute of every friendly why would you think we'll go with wing backs.
However who knows who'll be signed up or still be here come Saturday.

in this interview on the Shropshire Star - www.shropshirestar.com/sport/shrewsbury-town-fc/2015/08/03/busy-town-plan-to-make-history/MM talks alot about wanting to play with wingers and getting at the full backs and supplying good crosses. Also talks about how with wing backs there was not enough crosses. I think his preference is 4 4 2 and we did start that way last season; but the players in the those roles i.e. Vincent failed to provide the service. I would expect, again from reading the interview, that Whalley may start on the wing if JLAA isn't signed.

Whalley looks to be an impact sub to me. He hasn't been prominent in team selection so far - why would he start? The last friendly is the best guide surely. Also. - based on that MD will be sitting at home.

My line up would be:
Leutwiler
Tootle Ellis Goldson Sadler
Clark R.Woods Lawrence M.Woods
Barnett Collins
I still think we are a winger short but everywhere else looks pretty strong. We still have 2 key players in Wesolowski and NKP to come back to.
With the squad at our disposal, I'd say a 4-3-1-2 (diamond) would suit us the most but I don't see it as being very effective.

Not overly keen at all on Sadler, solid defender but very poor at getting forward. Very much in the Holden mould.

Solid defensively and he is good at getting forward. I think Demetriou might think this too and is willing to fight for his place.

Has any word been said by the manager on why we seem to have gone for 4-4-2 in pre season yet?
5-3-2 served us well in most games last season and seemed to bring the best out of our central defenders. Wing backs were a little hit and miss but overall defence was probably the strongest part of the side. Not convinced 4-4-2 quite gives us that defensive quality of last year
