With just 2 hours and twenty minutes to kick off, there doesn't seem to much interest in this one, which is surprising with just one week to go.
There may now be two leagues between us, but at the back end of last season they beat us on their patch, disappointingly ending any hope of us pipping Burton to the title.
Although we have gone in different directions, they are favourites for an immediate return and appear to have made some astute signings... although they have had more trialists than you would expect to see at the Old Bailey.
It will be interesting if Mangan is fit as he will have a point to prove,, and all and all this should prove a pretty tough test.
On the Shrewsweb Twitter page, there is a radiolink... which claims it is an online link too.
Come on Town.

1-0. Barnett (or Barrett as the commentator keeps calling him) from a cross by McAlinden.

Town still 2-0 up but Tranmere have been pressing in last 15 minutes.
Half time whistle just gone.
It'll be interesting to see how many changes MM makes at half time...

Bit hard to see past the scouser commentators' Tranmere specs... but, according to them, Tranmere have had 95% of the play while we have scored two streaky goals.
But sounds as though Jayson has kept our advantage to two with a top class save and they do sound as though they have had more of the ball.
Now for those doing the radio quiz.
Q1 : what is the maximum break in snooker. I would think that is 155.

Question 3 of the quiz: What was introduced into football in 1875?: I think the answer to that is .... Graham Turner.
Ooops. Tranmere 1 Town 2. Their trialist scores at the start of the half, apparently from about 32 yards further out than Barnett's opener.

Collo and JLAA make it 4-1. We must sign the Frenchman up. Tranmere still trying hard. Jayson L sounds in good pre-season form.

That's all the strikers scored then, and Mangan drawn a blank. Just need Vernon to add number 5 and away we go.

Personally I'm going to wait for official confirmation from the club regarding if Vernon was indeed an unused substitute or not.
