Picked my "Credit Card" season ticket up this morning for the Bandera Stand. I didn't even realize the West stand had been renamed.

To avoid fraud what is the difference on the card to denote a concession or adult, How will they know and will all the turnstiles be permanently manned?

Is it just one card we are being issued with, or is there a book of tickets with bar codes as well?
Just asking, as I'm wondering what Plan B will be when the whole system goes down 10 minutes before kick off.

I would imagine it flags the category of ticket on the scanner so can be verified by the gate man. When the system goes live with no staff on the turnstile I would guess a steward will perform random checks as people enter the ground.

I'm a season ticket holder, but how will this system work for fans who buy their tickets on the day?

It's all really simple.
Somebody with a scanner 'gun' scans your ticket, piece of paper from home, or your card.
On that ticket/paper/card will be all the details. This technology has been around for years.

Relax man, it might never happen and they can always delay the kick off if it does!

My brother is a Man City season ticket holder and they have been using the cards since the Etihad was built so it is proven technology so I would not anticipate any doomsday type scenario - as stated earlier the KO can always be delayed if there is a crash

Very difficult for a steward to make a decision if a child is 8 (free) or 10 (£30) or 11 (£more) The cards are the same to answer Freds question

As others have said its existing technology which has been around a long time and realistically is something that should have been in place when the ground was built. Thankfully the club look the sensible approach and decided to have gateman this season before going fully automated, I remember the confused look on many of our fans faces when faced with a barcode scanner at Wembley, Leicester etc.
In relation to on the day, someone told me that theres been some teething problems at the friendlies with people who have brought tickets but the barcode hasn't been recognised so they have been forced to go back to queue up at the ticket office. If it is true hopefully sorted before the first game

Yes but whats to stop a family using this ticket for an elder sibling ?

If you lose your card can they cancel it and issue a new one? I think this is what happened to a friend of mine who is an Everton fan. This would be a big plus rather than losing your book of tickets and be goosed.

I enquired about this when I picked my ST up. If you lose it, you have to wait until 3pm (or whatever kick off time is) for them to check to see whether it has been used. You'll be required to pay £5 for a replacement too.

To be fair I lost my book once, and went to ticket office and they replaced it, no fuss and for free and before 3pm
If what Rylehu put is true then its another way in which things become just that bit more anooying and costly

Take a photo of it? Bar code scanner might be able to read a picture!
