I thought the problem was that someone at the club made a mess up and we didn't get as much as we should've done? That's what I said

Public record says we did. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27978890, undisclosed (it wasn't nothing!), who knows! To be honest if we got 100k for Ginnelly i would be happy with that, hardly played in the first team and we haven't put that much development into him as we had him off Villa. i have no idea where the Rangers forum plucked the figure from. If you remember we only got 400k for Taylor, or so. He nowhere near the first team regular as Taylor was. But if the figure is higher to keep the out of contract players then that's what they are holding out for, to be honest who would pay anymore for an untested player. I honestly cant see him going to the Conference North, the only other option is Scotland. That does worry me as we would get nothing for him. He needs a place to make mistakes and learn in the first team in league 1 or 2 all the under 21 football is a graveyard for English talent, its a shame. Some of the players we have on loan the last 3 seasons have all been learning, hence they are allowed out on loan. But maybe at 18 you want to be look at me i play for Norwich, Burnley. Maybe in a few years will will have him back. Someone who spoke to hs father knows. (Not me......)

Yes, you have to remember the tribunal never happened for Bradshaw..... its not comparable at all to Ginelley if it goes to a tribunal.
That said looks like we will agree a fee with Burnely at some point this week, and again a tribunal will be avoided.

I just wish that we had signed up Grandison and Akpa-Akpro before we signed some of the new arrivals who are likely to be bench warmers at best.
And then if a deal had gone through for Ginelly, Woods or Goldson, the funds freed could then have been used to recruit some of those fringe players on MMs list.
As it stands we are just 5 days away from the new season with two of our most influential players in limbo.
I don't call that a learning curve; I call it daft.
Fingers crosses that Josh joins Burnley this week, and that GG and JLAA are wearing Town shirts on Saturday. I just feel that this brinkmanship wasn't needed, and that it weakens our bargaining powers over Ginelly.

I think maybe we are worrying a little too much over it, they should sign as soon as Ginelly goes. That said anyone else find it a bit crazy that at the end of last season we thought Woods and Goldson would leave and free up some funds only for a youth team player who very few of us have seen looks set to fill that role? Football is a funny game sometimes.

I reckon that MM, MW & RW thought our coffers would be pretty swollen at this moment in time. To be honest I did too.
Looks like we are on the backfoot with the sale of Ginnelly. Lets hope we box a bit more clever during August when clubs test our resolve on Connor & Ryan.

As the overrated young ****er who hasn't contributed anything to the club, and has only taken out, isn't interested in playing for Shrewsbury, I wish him and his agent would rev up and **** off, personally. I'd much prefer to have players who want to sign and have as much passion for the club as MM and the supporters.

I see that Ronaldo has bought his agent a Greek Island for a wedding present; hopefully Ginelly will be buying his agent a Greek Salad to celebrate signing for Burnley before Friday.

At least when he has finally signed for whoever, he can look at this thread and gloat at the number of views, the number of messages and think to himself that as an 18 year old prima donna how well he has done at inciting anger amongst the Town faithful. I read this message board frequently, perhaps too frequently and I do not understand why his actions have caused such a reaction amongst certain members of this board.

Perhaps because we are a small club with few resources who he has used to develop his career and showcase his talents. Now he is occupying a squad place and a slice of the allocated wage bill (albeit he is not being paid it) which could go to someone else - the delay due to him could mean that we miss signing players that we need for next season. To boot his agent has threatened the club to exit him with no payback for the development of the player and the player himself seems to be treating the club with no respect after it rescued his career.

We all collectively want the best for the club. We want not necessarily the best players but we want players who will wear the shirt with pride but does that stretch to the huge amount of concern that certain members of the board seem to have and the totally unnecessary criticism being levelled at the club. No-one on this board knows the goings on behind the scenes nor have they any right to know. They may have a season ticket, they may have bought a shirt etc but that is where their entitlement to know ends. This strong sense of criticism that the club should release statements every five minutes is also entirely wrong. The Ginelly thread is all allegedly down to the fact that two players who the club want to sign, cant because of lack of finances.
Both players Grandison and AA were offered contracts but they chose to look elsewhere. For whatever reason they are both now wanting/needing to sign for the club. Did these players keep the club informed? Do you think that MM would have gone out and spent to the cap if he knew that both players would come back at a later date wanting to sign for and wear the shirt with pride?
Life is tough. If we manage to sign both players ideally before Saturday then that will be great. If we dont then so be it.

Well done to Micky Mellon on his conduct through this saga.
I expect we would do well to get 250k , I expect it was roughly 100k.
Hopefully there is a sell on clause included because this lad has got a lot of potential
